I was an asura warrior since BWE 3 + and I am still playing it. I chose the big ‘cute’ ears for my character, but towards the end I noticed that every time you are in combat or take out your weapons the ears starts to point up. It just looks freaking ridiculous and it is probably the ugliest thing I have ever seen. I have to wear a helmet all the time because I can’t stand the ears… My character looks awesome when not in combat…

Why?!

If this is the uglyiest thing you have ever seen then I honestly congratulate you to the enormous amount of aesthetics and beauty that is surrounding you – I see a lot worse than floppy big Asura ears every morning on my way to work.
I also have to endure the sight of Charrs when in game, and their teeth and toes are a lot worse than my Asura’s floaty ears, too

On a more serious note:
Imagine your Asura to be a dog – even those with floppy ears prick them up when attentive, and being in fight definitely requires attentiveness.
Once you’re back to relax-mode your ears can hang around, too

I have two Asura, both female. One one I chose the long big ears and thickened em up a bit, and they do look a bit silly when in combat. So on my second character I chose the shorter “rounded tip” ears. I thickened them and angled them in creation in such a way that they almost stick straight out to the side, but still look good. This made it awesome for combat. The move up just a little but it doesn’t look out of the norm. The servers just went down for a hour. When they come up I’ll get a screen to show.

1. this feature has been in since BWE3 and you somehow didn’t notice it?
2. most warrior helmets don’t hide the ears
3. your ears pointing up is the ugliest thing you’ve ever seen?

I actually made my ears really small and cat-like, and when I enter combat the pricking up animation rounds them and I end up looking like a mouse >.<

Asura’s ears lift up when they’re excited. Their ears are like a dog’s tail. Its a physical embodiment of their emotions. Try making the scared emote next time you’re ingame. You’ll see your asura’s ears drop.

Some of the ears do look pretty stupid when pointed up though, they should really show you what they look like in the CC.

The ears add an extra layer of expression for Asura, as they have tiny faces and it might be hard to read if it was just that alone to display emotion. But just look at the ears and you know what’s up. Mine has rather big floppy ears, and I love it!

To me, the ears standing looks ridiculously cute. I was surprised and happy when my Asura perked up his gigantic ears for the first time.

Ignore his eyes looking two different colors, they’re bugged.

Depending on the ear choice, I find it adowuble.

The only problem is when you’re wearing a hat and suddenly your ears puncture the brim.

I paid a gold piece for that, and my ungrateful Asura goes and breaks it because a — That is one big spider.

I like the ears perking up during a fight.

Someone randomly said to me “nice ears, stitch” when I was a much lower level. It made me smile

Meh. I love everything about my Assura(s). I go for huge ears and the smallest character height. It fills me with joy when I do jumping puzzles and watch the big oafs fall. My ears go strait up in combat because I’m daring someone to try and chop one off. Good luck with that, I’ll kneecap em then feast on their dead body (Assura have that big mouth and pointed teeth for a reason). Chomp!

I absolutely love the fact my ears perk when I feel any emotion, its akin to how a dogs hairs stand up on end when in combat.

Tbh I think the animators did a brilliant job on every single asuran emote or movement. I feel they really enjoyed making it.

Personally I really love it, it is actually one of my favourite things about my little asura. ^^

And I love how the ears flop around when they run too, simply adorable!

The way the ears move is actually one of the main aesthetic reasons I picked the asura.

I actually really like this ear thing, it makes them seem a little more real

I also love the perked ears in combat. I go from a floppy lop eared rabbit to a mean little pointy ear devil piranha.

I love my ears going up in combat, makes your character listen carefully from threats around him as well.

You sir are a horrendous racist.

Charr are beautiful and cuddly. You can actually reduce the teeth and horns and other features to make them look like an adolescent cub if you really want but they are Ware-cats what in the heck do you expect? They are absolutely gorgeous, I have loved them since the first game where they actually did look a touch shoddy at times to put it nicely.

More on topic: I love the Asura’s ears and love it how they stand up when they are alert, it makes sense.
