The extinction of Bookahs
They do, it’s just more among themselves.
If you’re going to make lots of money off of people and maintain neutral and lucrative political affiliations with the entire dispora of Tyria, it’s not wise to insult them to their face every other interaction with them.
Then there is that human fellow in LA who, upon being called a bookah by a perturbed female asura, believed her to be hitting on him.
It’s not insulting at all if the bookah in question is unable to discern the context.
It makes you, the insulter, look dumb. Could also lead to hilariously awkward situations as the above.
As Mif says, "Bookah can’t science".

I’m also disappointed on the lack of bookah talk in this game.
I did find just south of the Godslost Swamp in Queendale there is an asura that calls the human she is talking to a bookah.
I call people bookah all the time in Lion’s Arch chat. In fact, I made multiple people look up the definition (which they looked up wrong, silly bookahs…) and proceeded to berate them for their inability to understand the power of brains over size.
I’m also disappointed on the lack of bookah talk in this game.
Me too
As Mif says, “Bookah can’t science”.
Fact!
I propose that the decrease of the term bookah is directly related to the increase of bookahs forgetting to breath. As they expire, any reference to them becomes less and less relevant as time goes on. I’m sure I have a chart here somewhere for ease of reference. It’s full of pretty colors to keep the survivors entertained.

The real answer, is most likely down to making homogeneous dialogue.
The term bookah DOES occasionally arise between asura NPC/human NPC interactions, but when it’s Asura NPC/player character, due to the possibility of the player also being an asura they have to use more generalised terms.
This goes even further when you realise that all the playable races have the EXACT same dialogue in the story beyond their personal story; which is why the Charr player character suddenly starts acting like a wimp, the Asura player character loses their flowery egomaniacal speech, the Norn player’s balls shrivvel and drop off etc

... and with Trahearne involved, this will not end well.

This thread got me excited, thinking it referenced the extinction of all the bookahs

they will eventually in time.
Asuras have front row seats to the feast of evolution, useless pieces of the eternal alchemy get replaced all the time, one day it will only Asuras and Dragons will be left, then we can take out the really big guns, and see who wins, evolution always wins.

Speaking of which I was in Hoelbrak on my human thief, and right outside the cave to the Sons of Svanirs den there was a Norn complimenting me on how well I did in the great hunt, and that apparently he won a whole bunch of money by betting on me.
When a guildmate, annoys me a lot, I start to call him/her bookah.
Hi there!
