Well, if the novels are considered part of the lore, there is a scene in Edge of Destiny where Snaff makes dinner, consisting of smoked pork, potatoes, onions, leeks, gravy and cornflower cakes with honey.

In due time, all will serve the asura.

Asura are omnivores, just like all the other races of Tyria. They eat of every commonly available foodstuffs. What they find tasty, on the other hand, seems to be a personal choice rather than a choice of race.

If you’re asking what their diet consisted of before surfacing, on the other hand, there’s little evidence to go by. They’d most likely have grown vegetables in some sort of hydroponics basin, in addition to wild growing flora such as lichen or fungi. Most likely meat as well, either farmed (possibly siamoth) or wild (such as wurms).

And before anyone comments on the teeth, sharp teeth do not immediately mean carnivore. Lots of herbivores have very sharp teeth, including but not limited to gorillas, pandas, hippopotamusi, and fruit bats.

Considering they were once a subterranean race, I’m guessing the Asura probably lived on a diet of fungi, lichens, insects and other subterranean foods before they came to the surface. Since their arrival on the surface, they’ve expanded their diet to eat basically what humans and other races eat.

Gorills-They are not sharper then a humans at least the females.
Pandas-They do eat meat 1% of their diet is meat and its said that in the past the proccent was higher.
Hippo-only 4 sharp teeth and are for fighting
Fruit bats-The fruits are easier to eat if you remove the tough part to get to the tasty stuff and sharp teeth help.
I think Azura ate things with though outher layer to get to the tasty stuff like the bats

Still a herbivore.

Herbivore is defined as a primary consumer. Pandas qualify. Still a herbivore.
Further the last part of your statement is pure speculation.

Yes, they are herbivores.

I’m not sure why you’re trying to argue on this point, but here’s some more animals with sharp teeth you could try to prove are not herbivores: baboons, rhinoceros, peccary (or javelina for the US audience), musk deer, and camels.

Wanna see how a baboon kill a poor baby antilope and eats it also flees there still meat and I think gorillas do the same thing eat flees . And about pandas for some reason their body is better adapted to eat meat. Now about the Azura are the wurms equiped with a tough whatever they have to cover their internal organs?

Like pandas, they are a primary consumer – meaning they get the vast majority of their nutrition from vegetation. This means both baboons and gorillas are herbivores. Primary consumer = herbivore.

And about pandas for some reason their body is better adapted to eat meat.

Completely irrelevant as they, like aforementioned baboons and gorillas, are primary consumers, and therefore herbivores. Whether a creature is a carnivore (or omnivore) has absolutely nothing to do with what they COULD be eating, it’s all about their ACTUAL source of nutrition.

Now about the Azura are the wurms equiped with a tough whatever they have to cover their internal organs?

As these wurms aren’t actual creatures that we, as real people, could dissect and study, this is really anyone’s guess. However, based on certain available drops, it seems likely they do have some form of husk or carapace – which is why I stated from the very beginning they were likely to be in pre-surface diets of asura.

^I do not know if eating plants or animals mostly makes you herbivor or carnivore I do not think is such a universal rule. With such a rule is like eliminating the omnivore category.

It’s all about the main source of nutrition.

If the main source of nutrition is flora, the creature is a primary consumer and from that the derived term is herbivore. Even if the creature consumes a small amount of meat, as long as it doesn’t make up a significant part of the sustenance the creature requires on a regular basis, the creature still is a primary consumer. Examples of herbivores, alongside those I’ve already mentioned in this thread, include elk, guinea pigs, and horses.

If the main source of nutrition is fauna, AND if the creature hunt the fauna itself (keep this caveat in mind for later), the creature is a secondary consumer called a carnivore. As with the herbivore, even if the creature consumes a small amount of flora it doesn’t invalidate their status as a carnivore. Examples include wolves, lions, and polar bears.

If the creature has a diet consisting of both flora and fauna, where neither is the dominant source of nutrition over the other, and the fauna they eat are hunted by the creature itself (again, this caveat), the creature is an omnivore – it is both a primary and a secondary consumer. Examples of this include rats, bears, and hedgehogs.

These are the three primary categories of classification among the fauna, but depending on how detailed you’d like to go you could further split it down. I won’t go into too much detail, but some fun things to know would be that humans, like vultures, are classified as scavengers rather than omnivores, because we generally don’t hunt our meat ourselves (leaving the hunting and/or killing to some very few specialized individuals), that you can further classify carnivores into (for example) insectivores and piscivores, and likewise herbivores can be classified down into things like folivores and granivores.

The more you know!

I’m pretty sure everything in the books is canon.
