If you haven’t, you should try it. Then try to see how long you can go before throwing the staff away. For those who have, anyone else out there who find the staff sounds for the necromancer to just be incredibly annoying? No offence, but who thought of that?

clearly you have not used a greatsword on a mesmer for longer than 2 minutes, or any of the guardian tome skills.

Ya i have a staff on my necro and tbh the sound isnt too pleasant if your using it more than a while. I noticed the same thing with guardian wielding a scepter

Are you kidding? That’s the whole reason I bought a staff on my necro in the first place. =p Also, I use a greatsword as my main weapon on my Mesmer.

Haha, what? I actually love the staff sounds, it sounds pure evil, like souls suffering from the plains of the underworld, (diablo 2, plains of despair comes to mind) fits perfectly. BUT, the sound should be lowered a bit because it’s higher than any other weapon sound in the game.

The sound itself is not really the problem but the sheer volume of it is. If i could avoid it i would but my most effective pvp build needs one

How about the warrior buff of which i do not remember the name “for justice , for justice for justice for justice…..and so on and so forth..”

Ya it sounds pretty awful. It reminds me of water doing down a drain or something… very loudly..

Seriously, it’s too loud, if they made it quieter it wouldn’t be so bad.

It’s not too bad itself, the problem is the volume. It’s just too loud. You can be in the middle of a huge WvW battle, and still hear it over all other sounds.

If they turn the volume down a bit, it would not be as bad I think.

I don’t love it, but I think it is ok. I agree that it is a little too loud, though.

Yep, the sound is way too loud compared with the other weapon sounds. When I switch to the staff i always lower my speakers volume.. Oo

I agree, the neco’s staff “sound” is so loud it should have its own deafening attack/stun bonus effect. I still use it though.

The Sound of the necro staff drives me crazy. Turning it down, or changing it really should be done. I hope it will be done. I like the staff skills but, I just cant use it with the sound it makes.

I have rolled both a Mesmer and a Necro and have deleted them both based purely on the awful sounds they have associated with them. Truly terrible. I may look again at these two classes in six months time when they get fixed.

I suppose you wouldn’t enjoy an elementalist’s Ride the Lightning I kind of cringe when I play with a friend who has his sound turned way up and hear it echoing back through my headset. Yet, I love it!

Other than, as with many annoying sounds and voices, its a bit to loud, I actually like the sound. I don’t really care for it in a group of necros though, that gets a tad nauseous in a long dynamic event.
