Everyone should talk
No please no, i hated how everyone in Skyrim just randomly started to talk to you about random crap. Especially that Norn guy in whiterun who always said “you know what’s wrong with skyrim these days? Everyone is obsessed with death.” or how about “I work for Belethor, at the general goods store.” the bottom line is that it´s way to annoying to keep hearing this over and over again and again.
I didn’t say everyone should just randomly talk to you. I think that when you talk to an NPC the dialogue should be spoken. I find it strange to have the dialogue go from spoken, to written.
Plus, from an accessibility standpoint it just makes sense.
People these days are getting so dumbed down and Passive ,it explains why audiobooks are so popular these days. Ironically audio books used to be considered to be mainly intended for little children or disabled people who where unable to read for themselves.

Do you think perhaps you’re being a big biased when you say “dumbed down?”
There are many out there who aren’t able to read for various reasons, (dyslexia, comprehension, ability, etc). To assume that people are dumber for not reading is a bit of a gross assumption.
Secondly, I don’t see it as dumbing down at all. MMO’s are not educational software, they are entertainment. For many of us, having a consistent presentation goes a long way to the immersion. Gone are the days when voice acting had to be limited due to limited space.
Considering the context of your OP im sorry to say that i find that a kind of a cop out. And my response was perfectly within context in relation to it, please stop the spin ok. If anything then it is you who is being biased here.
Coming from Skyrim I’m totally spoiled when it comes to NPC voices.
Yes some people are disabled ,so ? Do you advocate support for people with one hand or no usable fingers too and emplore Anet to support them by implementing voice command too or are you just sticking to only using the examples that further support your own personal preferences ?

1.advocate your own personal preference motivated by selfish reasons.
2. Lace the reasoning and arguments with false morality by attempting to abuse some sort of good cause e.g the children think of the childrennnn!! to justify it and rally support.
The owh kittens , 3 lines of text i’m not kittens reading all of that mentality exists because of this and yes passiveness like that dumbs people down and the fact that people are begging for more of it is not a good sign.
