Hello my Guild Wars 2 Community!

As of now, I am reaching out to all of the aspiring musicians who enjoy music with such a fervor that is unable to be understood by anyone!

In real life, I am a musician. I play the tuba, euphonium, and trombone, and I sing, along with me being in several different ensembles. Music has played a significant role into my life and as of now, I am just in awe with what this game has provided me, in regards to its musical literature. You see copious amounts of players with their bells, horns, and flutes that are playing anything, or actual songs. This had given me an idea, an idea that would potentially change the musical world of this game forever. Whether this idea has been attempted before by another person, that is beyond me. The combination of this game and my passion for music, I have came up with the idea of starting my own ensemble within the game.

I would like to start up with a small group of people, slowly expand, and eventually have my own symphony of players who are more than willing to entertain the GW2 community, and YouTube.

This project, or rather a goal of mine will take some time. With the right attitude, determination, and patience, we can make this a reality.

IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING DISRESPECTFUL TO SAY, DO NOT POST ON THIS THREAD WHATSOEVER, OR BECOME REPORTED. I say this because I have no time for nonsense whatsoever.
The server you are currently in will not matter. Thanks to guesting, rehearsals and scheduled events will take place in several different places and servers. You can be new to using the ingame instruments, or experienced, but you will learn many things. Such as, music theory, how to play in-game, and all other basic generalities.
Other than that, thank you so much, and be expecting more updates on this thread as time goes by!

I love this idea so much! And I agree with LordByron that lag would make this such a pain to pull off perfectly. I’ve got an in-game flute, a history of wrangling with various rl musical instruments and good intentions, though, so let me know if I can help :) Good luck

Hello! I’m glad to have caught your post. I’m a new player on Crystal Desert, a member of The Fallen Stars. I used to play Lord of the Rings online, and was a member of an in-game ‘band’ – members of the guild I was in that had volunteered to perform music for guild events and such. It was a much easier system, as you did not really have to play ‘live’; there was an often used database of midi files, essentially, that players could cue through the game interface to play a song automatically. The only difficulty in playing as an ensemble was clicking ‘start’ all at the same time. Latency was an issue in Lotro as well, but usually worked beautifully. I just purchased the new Harp! I played piano in real life long ago, but have lost the skill; now I just squawk on a synthesizer from time to time, but have a desire to play music again. I think forming some sort of group for music performances in GW2 sounds like a lot of fun! I would love to hear your ideas, experiences, and hope that I could offer something in return. I’m going to start sifting the song list here in the forums, and choose some music to practice playing in game.
