Guild Wars 2

I’m interested if ANet has, after the departure of Soule, already decided on a new lead composer and if the new pieces you get to hear this event are by them. Would be great if someone could answer this.

Awwww, so it wasn’t composed by Jeremy Soule then? And that might mean that he’s not the composer for GW2 anymore. Noooooooooo

But… ok, those new composers are good. I hope they compose more music for future GW2 content.

Soule is a good composer, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve never liked his work with GW. Way too generic and ambient sounding for me. It’s one of the first things I disable.

I really liked Soule’s music over the years but I felt Guild Wars 2 was his weakest work. Some tracks are good, but all too much do I hear repeated music in different zones and some of them are just too uppity and cheerful.

I know Guild Wars 2 isn’t necessarily a dark game but Soule produced some really mesmerizing and deep tracks for other games that I just don’t see in this.

In GW2 it just sounds like your typical sword and shield fantasy adventure tunes.

Edit: I also think GW1 had a MUCH better soundtrack

I agree. GW1 did have a better soundtrack.

WHAT? Jeremy Soule isn’t doing music for GW2 anymore? Can someone please tell me why? He did a fantastic job.
