Guild Wars 2

So, my problem is that something is wrong with my sound ingame. I can hear everything perfectly when the sound comes from either the left or right side of the screen, but i can barely hear anything when it’s coming from in front of me or from behind me.

I don’t really understand this… i doubt it’s like this because my Asura’s ears are a bit covered…

I can see how it makes sense that you hear things better from the sides, because of your ears, but the difference is just HUGE… and also, barely hearing anything from in front of you is non-realistic.

Have the same issue here. It is not “gamebreaking” just moderately bothersome.

I suppose you have stereo speakers, but either the game or Windows is set to 5.1 speakers. 5.1 would be 5 speakers around you: front left, front right, back left, back right and a center speaker + 1 subwoofer. In this case the sounds in front of you would be played through the center speaker which just doesn’t exist if you use stereo speakers or headphones.

You are right, i just figured this out yesterday and it was indeed the problem. I never set it to surround, but somehow it was in that… weird.
