I have my game audio running on a surround sound system. I have my skype & vent audio running on a headset. However, any time there is any incoming or outgoing audio on the headset the GW2 VOIP Ducking kicks in and mutes my game audio on my surround sound. I absolutely do not want it to do this. I want both at full volume all the time, that’s why I use two different channels for them.

The slider bar on the VOIP Ducking settings seems to do nothing (nor does it say what direction you’re supposed to slide it in to make VOIP Ducking more or less intense.) Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a way to disable VOIP Ducking altogether?

Just for the record so far I’ve only tested it with skype.

I can easily run my chat audio from another computer as I’ve been doing for many years, but I think it would be nice to be able to run them both from the same computer just for the sake of power conservation and not having to have a second computer sitting around just for voice chat.

Mine works with Mumble.

I had a terrible time trying to figure it out with Skype, and I actually had it all the way to the left (the last position I tried, and with no change, so I left it there). Later, when using Mumble, I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t hear the game. I eventually solved the problem by moving the VoIP Ducking slider.

Apparently, it doesn’t work with Skype.
