Voice Actors
I love the quaggans as a race, I hate the voice they have.
Why do ogres have to talk in broken english?
You racist, you!
Priorities, what to do?
Spend hours with dye
What can I say…SWTOR had great voice acting but the game was lacking greatly in other areas.
Voice acting here is sort of acceptable…but the game delivers more as a whole. I agree though…voice acting could’ve been a lot better.
I’ve been clamoring for a “mute character voice” option forever. player controlled fem norn butch voice makes me cringe. the npc counterparts sound fine however.
The only one that really throws me off is the Grawl voices.
Most out of place voice ever.
I hate Detha’s voice. It sounds so out of place.
All my gold to the man who voiced Quaggan’s
OoohooOooo.. Nice Teeth.
When I think of ogres i think : “Me smash you little man!”
These are not your ogres. I thought it refreshing that the lead ogre during the racial choice storyline was both female, and more intelligent than I expected. I also liked how visually they were not female (i.e., Arena Net didn’t slap breasts on them like Blizzard does to everything to indicate that they are female).

I have no issue with how they look, i think they look great.
If they were indeed intelligent, they are being portrayed wrong. Their architecture, clothes and general style seem fitting to nomadic, hunter, tribal civilization. Comparing this to other races, technology and civilizations within the game.
Setting this apart, it is highly unlikely for a whole world of different races and background to speak in the same dialect. Im just merely pointing out that i feel there need to be more variation.
TSW has ruined voice acting in games for me. That game had exceptional cutscenes. Nothing else even comes close. That said, the voice work in GW2 isn’t terrible.
I would like the option to tone it down some, especially my character voice, but then you have to consider that your character voice gives you a lot of important clues about what is going on that you might not notice if you aren’t staring at your bars (Ranger pet situation, being crippled or weakened, etc. etc. etc.). All in all, its a good experience.
Offtopic: ogres looks very humanoidic, unlike hylek or quaggans for example. I think, more womanish bodyshapes for female ogres would be fit.
Ironhart. If you mean the Jotun, they actually used to be a great race, highly intelligent and used to rule over the shiverpeaks a long time ago long before the events in GW1 I believe, until they had a falling out and became agressive with one another over power which made them essentially fall from grace to how they are now.
The Ogres in the game aren’t super stupid, they just crave power and that’s all they desire.
Ettin’s on the other hand…
Are people seriously going to complain about the voice acting again? “this seems out of place, and this does too”. Can’t please everyone. There hasn’t been a single NPC that hasn’t made me question if they should have that voice, except some of the player characters because of the way people make them look.
As for ogres, the ’me smash you" is actually Ettins. You ever see Shrek? Did you complain that he spoke perfect English?
Games not going to please everyone, and neither is the voice acting. But, it’s fine. These voice actors did a good job. The only problem with voice in this game is that some of the scripted talk will be a low toned woman Asuran (like the ones near the Tequatl spawn that talk about some experiment gone wrong), and when you talk to her she has a very high pitched voice.
But seriously, these voice actors did a kitten good job, and deserve some praise.
Can’t please everyone.
And shareholders must be pleased first.
1) Are people seriously going to complain about the voice acting again
2) As for ogres, the ’me smash you" is actually Ettins. You ever see Shrek? Did you complain that he spoke perfect English?
3)Games not going to please everyone, and neither is the voice acting.
1) Read the OP, im not complaining, I am merely expressing my opinion and what i have noticed personally
2)Yes, that’s irrelevant, unless were brining Holywood lore to GW.
3) Agreed, but that should be the goal.
I sense you are American since you didnt notice it being out of place.
Nevertheless, this is just my opinion.
Don’t you dare touch the skritt voices.
