5% Boon Duration instead of 15% on Ele

From my point of view, it looks like eles are taking the brunt of the indirect nerfs. Celestial losing it’s crit damage and boon duration is being nerfed on all runes. At this rate, I’m going to have to change all of my gear out.

Celestrial is getting 6% increase in all stats (except crit damage). Personally, I prefer that, since the crit damage isn’t the reason I use celestrial.
Where do you see the updated rune stats?
I think you’ll find a 6% increase to be hardly noticeable. That’s like 2-3 points extra for each piece.

Crit damage is also an Ele’s best friend in securing kills. Without landing hard hits on key skills (which is where crit damage shines) she won’t have the pressure to push her foes into panic mode. Power is good for Air autos, but you need something that tips the edge completely in your favor.
As others have astutely put it, I would much rather keep the increased crit damage over a slight boost to a general spread of stats. Shame.
No. Celestial will have all stats at the same value + 6%. That will also include ferocity. Even though, 6% is not generous at all.

It’s a 12% nerf to DPS and an 18% buff to defense.
Crit dmg -30%
Power +6%
Precision +6%
Condi + 6%
= 12% net loss
Toughness +6%
Vitality +6%
Healing Power + 6%
= 18% net gain
6% overall net gain with a shift toward defense. Thread.
Remind me, wasn’t the duration of Elementalist boons adjusted and the +Boon Duration Runes nerfed before? If the ability to stack +Boon duration runes is going away, then the boons need to be readjusted to be longer.
We know that some builds rely on mixing and matching different runes to optimize a given stat, and we don’t want to stop players from doing that. Rather than limiting build diversity, we simply want the PvE rune system to be as clear and approachable as possible for new players, so we’re making it easier to understand the benefits of sticking with a single rune set.
Nerfing 15% boon duration to 5% boon duration.
That’s definitely sending a message : We want to stop you from mixing and matching different runes to optimize a given stat.
I think people are jumping to conclusions in regards to the boon duration thing, personally.
Sure, the ONE rune we’ve seen that has boon duration only has 5% on the 2nd tier and 15% total if you go up to the 4th slot bonus. But that doesn’t mean that EVERY rune is going to have that. There are multiple runes that have boon duration. The devs even specifically said during the stream that part of the rebalance was that they wanted different runes to fit different roles. So while the one rune we’ve seen might not be amazing for boon duration, there may be another rune that is. There may be a rune set that has its main focus on boon duration, and who knows, that rune set might give 40% or more boon duration. While the rune we saw might be a “secondary” boon duration rune which gives a smaller bonus but gives other things in addition.
