One of the problems in this game is conditions and they way they work. Far too many times your powerful bleeds will be knocked off by someones auto attack bleeds. Too many weapon sets have conditions built into them, when it should be a choice. I think that would fix a lot of the issues.

EG: The warrior rifle auto attack puts a bleed on the target. But the rifle is mostly used as a power weapon (kill shot lulz). Make a simple trait in which condition or a little extra damage (but no condition) is the choice. Make it scale well as well, so that its always more beneficial for a power user to use the extra damage, and the bleed only more powerful if your condi specced/built.

While I used to support this, I now think it should be used for balancing purposes to – long term – prevent “overspecialization”.

As in, the best power weapons (mechanically) have conditions on them so if you’re purest berserker, damage is lower than it could be.
Likewise the best condition weapons from a raw application standpoint have actually pretty solid power scaling and don’t lend themselves well to staying alive while your conditions tick, so again, fully focusing onto only conditions makes it so you miss out on half the fun.

The strength of heart to face oneself has been made manifest. The persona Carighan has appeared.

Maybe just for the auto attacks then, as I see what you are saying. Even if its just on bleeds, as they are the bread and butter, having them off auto attack could go a way to helping the situation.
