In case we’re living in another planet, can any devs explain how a trap thief can contribute to PvP and WvW?

Every class has at least one, sometimes two skill-sets that are either completely useless or very, very niche.

Mesmers have Mantras and Thieves have Venoms and Traps.

Only one dev sometimes play thief in pvp and wvw, so what do you expect? They think only to nerf ‘cause crying people who don’t know how to play against a thief. Read next leaker balance, buff trap (5 sec of recharge, seriously?) and nerf skill damage (no one play unload because P/P is useless in pvp/wvw and they should know it).

Indeed, next leaked patch has traps buffed. But if the traps aren’t triggered by illusions, pets, minions and their “insert horrible mum joke to display the utter dismay upon learning traps are thieves buffs”, maybe traps will be useful.

Eles getting major overhaul, warriors getting 5 seconds weapon swaps, what’s new?

They just need to balance black powder (field should last 2 seconds not 4) and Sleight of hand should be split into 2 traits (force them to take the daze or the cooldown) its way too powerful in it’s current state.

Mantras are far from useless. MoConcentration has been my go-to stun breaker for my past few Mesmer builds because of how reliable it is and how much utility/support it has, for instance. That being said, ever class has some useless utilities, yes .
