I’m personally all for glass cannons I love em <3 But I do have a minor problem with the design of zerk eles. Where I find the contextual design of them on paper to be fine, and perfectly balanced. But I find the general usage to be a tad strong, and I’m curious as to if others agree or disagree to it being fair.

The way I see it, every proper glass cannon in this game has some form of set up. for example: Thieves in S/D needs to properly land “flanking strike” before being able to open up with “larcenous”, mesmers need to summon clones before they can do any real sort of damage + travel time, dagger thieves even require some amount of set up and although it changes the context of the game and it has been debated weather fair or not (personally I think it’s fine) it is still at least things you MUST do before being able to burst. Even the ye old 100b wars of old had to properly set up.

So then when I look at zerk ele I find it rather to… simple? to burst. Now technically the survivability is less than the other glass cannons, at least when trading blows with targets that don’t “instagib”. Which is fine the damage scales rather well with how squishy they are at least in my opinion. But it’s not like the other glass cannons are not also made of paper mache either. So does that slightly less survivability justify no real setup?

Ultimately it doesn’t “reallllyy” matter what perspective you hold since the fact remains this build is technically perfectly fair in the intended 5v5 format as are the other builds I have mentioned. (and is prob the “type of thing” as to the reason why we don’t have a proper 2v2 or 3v3 queue lol)

But I am curious on other peoples thoughts on this.

[This is clearly a PvP observation, I don’t think either “set up” or “none” matters much in PvE unless your trying to max timings]
