Balancing weapon skill 5 on warriors.
Imo warriors #5 skills are all pretty much useful, heres short list how I view them:
GS #5 – Rush:
Good utility skill that makes warrior a really mobile. A lot of rage is done in forums because of this skill
Hammer #5 – Backbreaker:
Insanely good skill. A bit obvious on animation, but when it connects it’s hard CC with rather massive damage.
Rifle #5 – Rifle butt:
An awesome skill for the rifle, knocks your foe away from you and does actually decent damage. It’s a good control skill to keep your foe from coming too near.
Bow #5 – Pin down:
You pretty much descriped this yourself. A really good skill that has soft CC and good chunk of bleed tied to it. Is really good skill for comboing other skill (for ex. 100b)
Mace #5 – Tremor:
Knocks foes down in a line accompanied with good damage. Also, if you do this skill from point blank to your target he will get hit twice from the damage fact! Really good skill.
Sword #5 – Riposte:
A block, good damage, stacks a good amount of bleed on target and on top of all that rather short cooldown of 15 seconds. Nice!
Shield #5 – Shield Stance:
You said this is good as well. And it is. 3 second block!
Warhorn #5 – Call to Arms:
One of the best skills to have for a supportive warrior. Gives vigor, inflicts weakness on enemies and if traited converts one condition from yourself and allies into a boon. Base CD 20 seconds, traited 16 seconds. I don’t even, this is goooood.
Axe #5 – Whirling Axe:
This might be the only lackluster skill. It does less damage than AA over time and is really situational. If you have multiple enemies around you then it’s ok skill to use as you can dodge while channeling. Other than that, not very good skill for PvP nor PvE.
There. Pretty much all of the #5 of warrior weapons are good, with axe being the exception. Even the underwater weapon #5 skills are good.
The only skill needing a bit of tuning is the Axe. Some form of utility tied into it would be really nice. Maybe 3 seconds of might from every hit so you could potentially boost yourself to 25 stacks of might for really short duration to get everything from Eviscrate? (A bit too OP to be honest, but can’t really come up with anything Axe like utility for it)
Mouggari – Warrior – Candy cane Avenger
This is not a nerf thread. I simply wanted to say the reason many warriors are forced to go longbow is because of longbow skill 5. It immobilizes for a good while and is better and faster than elementalist’s churning earth. The issue is not that this skill is op but that other warrior weapons can’t do that much.
I propose that other offhand weapons get a more useful 5th skill.
(Shield is fine)
You’re way off base there.
People don’t go for Longbow because of Pin Down. They go for Longbow because of Cleansing Ire. Combustive Shot allows you to trigger Cleansing Ire without having a target, or while blinded.
And no one is forced to go anything, ever.
As for the actual #5 skills, a lot of them are quite useful.
- Backbreaker is a major contributor to the strength of Hammer.
- Pin Down was recently given a new, nerfed animation because it was too good before. Tremor is the only reason you’d want to use Mace offhand outside of PvE.
- Riposte is awesome with Mission Deflection, not to mention a major contributor to a S/S condi build.
- Call to Arms is one of the only sources of Vigor a Warrior has access to.
- Shield Stance is the reason to take a Shield, also the most popular offhand choice outside of PvE.
- Tsunami Slash is an awesome gap closer
The only #5 skills that I think could use some tinkering are Rush, Repeating Shot and Whirling Axe. Rush is buggy so fix that and it’ll be good. Repeating Shot has too long of a cooldown for its damage. Whirling Axe could be fixed by making it reflect projectiles and possibly lowering the cooldown a bit.
Ok, thanks for sharing your thoughts. The disagree is 2 and 0 agree to this idea to this idea 100% of players disagree so far. I would be interested to hear others thoughts as well.

this, the only kitten 5 skill warriors have is axe5
as a matter of fact, pindown is now really easy to dodge, you just have to watch for the obvious animation they added in. it was definitely a bit op before, but i think it’s in a good place now.
axe 5 is fine. i dun mind a few more buffs to it though.
i enjoy the 15 fire bolts it dishes out via 15 whirl finisher .
So far 4 to none have rejected the idea. It seems pretty unanimous.
if axe 5 is to be changed, i hope the x15 whirl finisher is retained and not removed or replaced.
the damage is quite decent actually provided if all 15 hits connects.
2.85 x power x weapon strength / armor
perhaps a simple recharge time reduction down to 15 seconds would suffice.
no need to add reflection, because them warrior haters may find new things to complain about then.

Honestly, the reason I will never use an offhand Axe is the total lack of utility. Having a reflect would give you some form of utility that is only useful vs some builds while also having a damage component.

well, for me, the “utility” is the 15 whirl finisher.
with myself that means 15 firebolts.
if they fail to dodge, move away from the blender, it means they are taking both direct damage while stacking up more and more seconds of burning.
chaos storm? 15 confusing bolts.
its good fun in hotjoin so far, i have not tested it out in team arena yet though.
what do you think if it has a recharge time of 15 seconds instead of 20 seconds?
So to summarize, 2 players have decided the ax 5th skill is fine while 5 have decided it is bad. While one has stated what one should change if the ax 5th skill should be tweeked.

Add reflects to it and just make warriors the only class in this game.
