Don’t get me wrong, I’m not screaming broken, but, with conditions being so ridiculously prevalent in the game, with no REAL active counters aside from the occasional cleanses etc, or stat/stat combo that defends against condis and no real drawback or penalty for going conditions, I think it’s safe to say blind needs to be looked at as it completely shuts down melee.
Power users can already be at a massive disadvantage when it comes to facing condition users as it is. Attrition will always win, especially when such stats as condition dmg are paired with other major defensive stats such as both toughness and vitality with no real penalty.
I understand Anet has taken steps towards improving such spammable conditions such as dhuumfire etc <bravo about time> but certain things should be either re addressed or overhauled.
Blind is that one condition that really makes or breaks a fight for me, on any melee class, it never fails, that one key skill that can sway the tide of the fight, goes and 100% misses flat out causes me to waste massive weapon CD’s.
I just think, and this is only my opinion as a frustrated melee character, that blind should be toned down to maybe 50-75% miss rate, decrease the time intervals for which is pulses, or something of the like.
IDC if it’s 99% shutdown, just give me that 1% chance to hit with a skill. That’s all i need. Even GW1 had blinds cap at 90% miss i believe.

As an elementalist using scepter in spvp I find that blind is actually my main defense against condition necromancers but is also extremely useful against warriors using a hammer to avoid chain cc.
Please never change blinds. Learn to read your own conditions and auto-attack first!

So tell me how it’s fair to 100% counter defense someone with a 6s blind every 10s. Can you kill someone in 4s? Maybe as a s/d ele that has burst that has absolutely 0 counter play, but try killing anyone as a melee user in that time frame.
Blind is only for one attack. If you can, check the screen effect and auto attack before burning a cooldown. It is a strong effect, but it only lasts 1 hit, no matter how long the duration. Also, don’t stand in smoke fields. It’s the number 1 way to get shut down as a melee class.

You don’t have to wait it out, one auto-attack should remove it.
