Guild Wars 2

Hello there, im a Ranger for some time now and id like to try smth else and maybe… make that smth else my main and kinda only char, as i like to only play 1 class whenever possible.

So as the tittle sugests im inbetween Elementalists, Mesmer and Guardians;

Can u guys list a Pros and Cons for these classes? (Seriously pls, no GO WARRIOR, thx ^^)

Atm my idea is:

Ele: As mobility (I like mobility), great in dungeons playing hardcore or softcore (Fire staff), not so good in pvp, great in zergs.

Mesmer: lacks mobility out of combat (what a problem…really, i love to be fast out of combat.) Other than that they do well in everything else i think.

Guardian: Good in everything, lacks a little the damage compared to ele, but they fit everywhere, the problem is that i already have 2 m8s that usually do dungs with me and have guardian mains, and i dont know if it is worth to have 3 in a party for most aspects, tough id like to hear smth over this… thanks

Mesmer is good for 1v1 and vailbot for wvw and time warp in dungeon + boon clone.
Warrior good for everything
Ele: field spawn in wvw and met shower/frost bow in some situations

2 of the classes are boon reliant so in the pvp meta anything except ranger and warrior will mess up your boons and stack conditions like crazy.

As a mesmer you get to counter almost every class effectively, so for pvp it’s nice.
For a dungeon class I’d pick Ele tho, so really up to you.

id say go ele if u like casting and deal a lot of dmg with it and also if u like being a great support in groups or zergs.

war can play everything and is godlike in almost everygame mode.

mes is a 1v1 and deuling class only. in wvw u are a veilbot and will get cc’d to death 80% of the time. u can go topu and maybe survive a little in zergs, but we lack aoe dmg, we lack stability we lack out of combat speed, we lack condi cleanse, we are bound to ai and ai is horrible in wvw…so if u like wvw, dont go mesmer unless u wanna portal golems around and veil people while being yelled at because u die in the cc zerg meta.

Ive been talking with some ppl on the elementalist forum and elementalist is becoming a more and more option…

Now if i may ask, and go a little offtopic:

Stick with my Ranger or go Elementalist? WvW + PvE mostly (the rest just a little eventually and for fun)

Ele has been nerfed so bad in the last year that its not half as fun as it used to be.

In short: Mesmer lacks a role. They’re no support, but no dps either and neither a tank.

Mesmer if you prefer PvP. They shine in duels and small skirmishes. They’re mediocre in PvE, and primarily utility (stealth, reflect, portal, etc.) in dungeons and large-scale WvW.

The Ele excels in dungeons and large-scale WvW due to their AoE DPS and combo fields.

The Guardian is pretty much useful, effective, and wanted in all game modes.

Eles are good in pvp…. just hard to use… guardians are easy to use and usefull in a lot of situqtions… As a second char guardians are good… is too early for u go with ele or mesmer, they are hard to use

Ive made up my mind… have fun
