Hi everyone!

Do you know, which profession will be great to go with engineer? I speak about “Duo Party” pve and WvW.

Maybe Necro? Turrets + minions = little army.

Any suggestions?

For wvw id say guardian. Cond spam engi is already tanky and with a guardian healing him and boosting his damage with burns and might stacks is even a more pain.

For pve engi is not really a beast if you play him with conditions. Bombs do good damage with full zerker (there should be a guide thread on the engi forums). I dont think there’s an iwin situation for pve.

My friend Engi. I personally like almost all classes, so i can choose best for good combo.

guardian is what works best for me. anything works, but I dislike duos with other engies or thieves. engies coz our burns don’t tick properly and thieves coz they make me too much of a target.

PU Mesmer.

PU Mesmer and Engineer make for the worst type of condition spam you can imagine.

They are also both semi-viable targets and can share a lot of the attention you may get. Mask is right when he says that any class that runs with a Thief essentially has to tank all the attention because players don’t like focusing on stealth-classes.

Now PU Mesmers have their Illusions to spam and distract their enemies and draw some of their attention while still being fairly slippery themselves.Their Phantasms and Illusions also create a lot of visual “noise” which can be helpful in chaotic WvW environments. Both Mesmer and Engineer will be playing fairly durable builds and their condition-spam augments each other.

I’ve seen this in action once. It was a nightmare.

This is quite accurate. Also can work with PU mesmer and a P/D thief or even a glassy thief, that combo is pretty brutal.

guard for aoe stability
necro for epidemic madness
ele for moar field spam
engi so they have no clue which of you to focus
warrior cuz you can nike about as much and itll be easy to farm camps

thief/mes dont actually work so well unless you go full tank engi. people will just focus the engi down while your buddy stealths. ive had some trouble with that in my roaming experiences.

and ranger is kinda meh overall anyways unless they go condibunker, but they can nike pretty well with gs (or sword i guess)
