I recall in the good ol’ “state of the game” Anet would always talk about how they wanted to slowly buff/nerf things and shave things that are too strong a little bit by bit because it gives the community time to adjust but then;

Bunker ele nerf
Dhuumfire
Healing signet
Warrior earthshaker nerf
S/D Evasion thief nerf
Healing signet nerf
Dhuumfire change/nerf
Spirit ranger nerf

Dont get me wrong, a few of those buffs/nerfs were warranted and well deserved but it just goes against what Arena net has been saying for ever so long. I personally think the healing signet nerf and Dhuumfire change/nerf are taking it too far and could potentially destroy the classes.

Now I do understand the time-frame between the bunker ele nerfs and now (which is quite a while) and how this could be their “shaving” but it’s redundant because they do it all in 1 patch. e.g. Necromancers went from being right next to power ranger all the way to the top of the list in 1 single patch.

You may as well add Deceptive Evasion to the list. But, yes: I absolutely agree with your overall point. And, I also honestly wonder when/why the Devs went from using a scalpel to modify class aspects, to going rather buck-wild with a chainsaw.

I made a similar point in one of my posts on the Mesmer forum, about how -at this rate- they’re going to eventually nerf all classes in game down to total homogenity, which would suck massively. Fact is, you want classes to excel in different ways, using different methods to secure their objectives; this promotes active counterplay between classes.

If the Devs are, daresay, having a hard time balancing certain aspects of the game, it’d be a lot better -for them- to simply be honest and admit such. Hell, a "We get that [Change “X”] really torques folks off, but we’re stumbling around just as much as you are" sort of response would gain a lot more patience from the players whose chosen class/build are being negatively impacted.

For that matter, we honestly need to just split pve/pvp, at this rate. Balance changes that work in pvp (due to its smaller map-scaling and number of participants) will generally not work in pve -or even WvW- due to larger amounts of space to roam in, and a vastly larger number of combatants. Why this isn’t being accounted for is
beyond me.

I don’t see Healing Signet destroying the class. As a heal, it’s just one option out of many.
Honestly, I recently found myself going back and forth between Adrenal Surge and Healing Signet a lot. Healing wise, the signet got an edge in drawn out escapes and when using siege weapons, while the surge is king in bursty encounters.
As a passive component of builds, the heal/sec of signet is just too high.
I just hope, they reduce the base heal and don’t touch the healing power scaling.

That is what they said, IIRC, the active and the scaling would not be touched.
