Glyph of elemental is broken
Can someone at Anet test the new elementals in an actual competitive context and acknowledge that the skill is now literally useless? The elementals are just standing still even when you tell them to do something and the animations take forever to land.
Seriously they do not work at all for anything else than killing rabbits.
Sorry for the complaint, the rest of the trait update is great, only the new elites are mostly useless.
This sound exactly like fleshgolem etc. So i guess this is more of an ai bug in general. I dont think they can easily fix this.

oh, so it hasn’t changed then. i wouldn’t say unusable, just very underwhelming.
It’s actually worse imho as you can’t rely on any of the effects to initiate any follow ups.
As in if I can see the opponent is going to heal and I want the air ele to stun him, I can’t click it and guarantee a stun. The stun will come maybe 5-6 seconds later.
All the other abilities rely on the elemental being in range, so maybe they never happen, or the time they occur is completely variable.
They’re just a massive disadvantage and with the fgs nerf it definately puts eles at the top of the worst elite skill list.
While the timing is completely unreliable, the heal from the water ele is super-strong on a brawler spec. The damage from the fire ele is also pretty good (although worse than before b/c of the cast). I would stick with fire for offensive 1v1’s, air for larger fights, and water for skirmishes where you need heals (and hug that water ele’s nuts as you spam the heal off CD).
Part of the idea of pet-based power in RPGs is to sacrifice control for reliable (AI-based) power.
So in other words, your minimum performance improves. Even if you do nothing at all, your pets will do something.
But on the other hand, your maximum performance suffers. Even if you play perfectly, your pet is shackled to a certain stable degree of performance.
That’s the trade-off. Some parts seem quite buggy, however.
Just revert changes and give us an elite that makes sense, like some signet or an utility slot :|
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
so instead of functioning autonomously and being mostly unreliable, they gave a command function which costs a cast time for a skill which takes the elemental a rather long time to perform making them completely unreliable if you use it

And not Necros? I mean, Flesh Golem used to be a cheerleader, Lich Form was apparently so good the duration needed to be nerfed(Even though all you had to do was steal the stability and ping pong them), and plague form, which… isn’t entirely awful. I guess. It’s got a limited range, but the condis can be nice from time to time…

And they made even worse, Now if u comand them to use their skills, now the elementalist is the one that needs cast, not the elemental. Now is worse than before.
Yeah i use hounds of balthazar and reaper of grenth now and they are awful… nuff said.
What os worse is for some reason the earth ele fails to mantain aggro in the few situation where he was useful prepatch (mossman for example).
Ele has 0 viable elites in pve.
Only few underpowered racial elites are lefrt in WWW unless you are an asura ofc.
