Let's give ArenaNet a "Thanks"
True.
Even though im a pretty unsatisfied necro who complains a lot, i will say: Thank you
-for new and faster moving PVP stuff
-for faster balance and feature pack
-for listening to community
(it may be weak, wont change and miles from what we asked) But it is aimed in the exactly right direction.
Keep it up
Edit:
I didnt mean in a mean way, im just highly realistic. We got more in the last 6 months, than we did in the first year and a half. im very happy about that and excited for whats to come

Haha. Such a back-handed compliment.
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
unless they un-fix frost spirit, all those nice changes mean nothing for PvE (ranger).
but i am excited to try some new ranger/mesmer/guardian builds in other game modes.
…and the adrenaline nerf for warrior was long overdue and smart for the game….always hated that the best thing a warrior could do (dps-wise in PvE) was camp GS and not use their class mechanic.
MARA (EU) Gunnar’s Hold
thank you anet – it is a fun game so dont let us down!
no one likes to “deal” with a balance patch … they should be enjoyable for all classes if they are balanced right ….
so even though i am appreciative i got to say
get back to work slackers ! XD
To be honest, saying thank you Arenanet would imply that they did something outstanding in a positive way or at least that they did a good job the last let´s say six month to a year. So you can ask yourself if that is the case here,
Balance Patches with a frequency of six month in a game that has so much content which involves pvp in one way or another is underwhelming in every way. If you look at what got changed at certain professions makes it also very clear that Arenanet is not and has not listened to people who actually play the game. It is like every other balance patch used to be in the past. Arenanet had an idea out of their mind and then they implement it no matter what. And of course we as players have to deal with this the next 6 month even if feedback is overwhelming negative or suggested otherwise.
They do not take balancing or even developing this game seriously, with the exception of living story i have to admit. WvW changes (and no i am not talking about this cheap trick they call season), SPvP maps / modes, nothing unfortunately. Ah no excuse me not nothing, in six month they developed three different colours for WvW commanders, wow, slow clap, what a change………..
I really would like to have something to thank them, but what they do for this game is simply not even enough to say that they did their jobs well. The only thing where they are really successful, and it seems that no matter where they always have enough ressources for, is moderating this forum. Deleting posts and infracting people seems something they enjoy more than working on their game.

If this balance patch means they finally are at a point where they can say, this game is ready for release. then i am sure they will come with faster balance and mechanics updates from now on.
TP: Fixed
Servers: Fixed
Living World: Is at a point where it can produce.
PVP: next.
WvW: next
Maps: next
Balance/skills/traits: next
Gamemodes: next.
Updates: more frequent
The foundation has finally settled. And its time tofocus the manpower put behind TP/programming mechanics and world bosses into matchup systems, leaderboards, balance and gamemodes.
PS: Ofcourse a regular 1 month shaving/balance/bugfixing patch would be in order too.
(crosses fingers for then next months)

It’s been two years, and conditions are still broken, and bosses still have Defiant. I do not see how the thanks is deserved. There are crucial problems with the game that have been present since day one, and that are still unaddressed. But woa, make way for one second recharge reduction on Signet of Vampirism. Yeah, great job balance team.

Although I am “thankful” they are still trying with balance, I still have severe problems with how it is implemented:
>> Balance is focused on their dream of sPvP being an E-Sport, which is highly debatable IMO
>> The fear of making bigger steps with balancing, e.g. to get Eles out of their Water/Arcana/Cantrips setups.
>> The lack of reacting to changes that affect skills that are not part of balancing (Burning Retreat / Speed nerf that comes with FGS#4 changes because they share the same base mechanic). 4 weeks and not a single “we are aware that this changes the damage output of …, too”)
>> Defiance/Unshakeable needs to have DPS cap too and not only a condi cap; the game mechanic (Iron Hide) is already in the game, but no word on if they have ever considered such a much since those boss attributes were introduced as a temporary solution to stacking stuff on bosses.
I know this sounds sour, but the current balancing only scrapes on the surface of the underlying problems. At this point all those “we are thinking about this” & “we can’t tell” posts" of the past months don’t make anything better. Devs need to spend time on issues, not window dressing.
Still keeps a volume of Kurzick poems ;)
Thanks Arena, I may not always agree with the changes (cough nerfs cough) but I appreciate the efforts you guys put in making the best MMO I have ever played.

This is what rational people refer to as ungrateful.
They do not delete post and infract people as enjoyment, they do it because you were rude, toxic, hateful, or derailing a thread. It would seem you are either rude, toxic, hateful, or derailing of threads, any combination of those, or all of them, otherwise you would not go out of your way to make it such an off topic point to mention.
I on the other hand, enjoy the game and have a great deal of fun. Sure, everything is not always done in the manner I, personally would prefer, but I thank you for create a game I genuinely have a great time in. So please ignore the ruse off topic posters who prefer to come to a “thank you” thread and make irrational off topic complaints, and have a great day.
I will give ANet my thanks for completely removing any reason to bring a Ranger into a dungeon with their stupid Frost spirit stealth nerf. And just as a thought that the Ranger will become a better all round class.
Hey! At least people don’t have to check if Ranger brings utility for the party, now they can just kick him right away!
That’s a true modern world of equality with no place for such discrimination!

I disagree here. E-sports have frequent balance updates. ANET releases patches every 5-6 months. The balance team is the single biggest reason why this game isn’t an esport.
Pretty much in the same boat as one of the posters above; thanks are warranted and given when an exceptional and/or unexpected action or form of behavior for the better is performed or demonstrated.
As of what I’ve seen since release, I am not thankful to ANet. They’ve quite frankly done nothing to actively improve my playing experience over time. Their maintenance efforts of the game are far from timely and have been in many instances poorly-executed. They follow poor design philosophies and frankly are just still riding the hype and development funding raised from 2010. They are not visionaries, clever, or even attached to their playerbase.
So I ridicule them. Studios like Riot have earned my respect and thanks (and that of many others) by going above and beyond. All GW2 has on me is that it’s currently the best out there due to a limited scope of competition.
I’ll dish out thanks and take back my words when they stop actively and publicly refusing to accept suggestions or make changes on the basis that it differs from some “creative vision” of some of their head developers and try and work with the community as well as with raw data to improve their gameplay dynamics and freshesn the experience.

Well you’re in for a disappointment because the changes to adrenaline do nothing to change that.
It’s almost like people don’t even understand how they’re changing adrenaline.
I’m not thanking them for being as lazy as they have been and completely shunning everyone besides Living Story fans and PvP players.
kitten them.
If I could +10,000 this I would.
Its not that simple, not everyone at anet calls the shots.
No.
As a WWW/PvE player i will never say thanks to a a team ruining my game modes since release for the sake of pvp.
I will when i will see some PvE and WWW balance Patches.
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
The frost spirit nerf completly killed ranger, the other changes are good, but pls let stow our pets permanently
Just the WvW

They’d get a “thank you” when they made it so that each ability in the game has some animation before & during so that there is room for counterplay.
They set up GW2 for supporting this type of combat, but they missed by having so many hard-hitting abilities that have practically zero room for counterplay.
Also … as the Mesmer forums will tell you … saying something is done is not the same as it actually being done. Ask about ability fixes that have been reported fixed in several patches … but still aren’t.
Try your best to not make mistakes, but, when you do make mistakes, learn from them.
Better yourself.
Thank you for the fluid game play
Thank you for the openness of the game play and the eotm train for impatient people
Thank you for the different races… except asura
Thank you for the lack of feedback
Thank you for the horrible support representatives
Thank you for not having a community manager on the forums to frequently banter
Thank you for over stating changes
Thank you for failing at real balancing issues or keeping us in the dark if they are being fixed
My class was more fun to play when the game launched, than it is now.
The Thief profession is still playable, I’m thankful for that. Keep up the good work — maybe a couple more big nerfs will finally put the Thief profession to rest. Nice job so far.
two thumbs WAAAY up
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.
Hey Guys,
After the Skill bar previews many complains appeared on the forums. Ofcourse I also have my opinions about it, but next to that I’dd really like to say thanks to the balancing team. We can’t expect them to fix everything, they just made a step. And actually they made some pretty important steps. Ranger and necro got some really important buffs for example. So here I go: Thanks!
Ye, thanks Arenanet, for fixing the trading post and that other fluff.
No thanks from necromancers.
LOOOOOOL ,this thread backfired so hard. No “thanks” for you today Anet.
Better start giving us the Guild Wars that we want or you will continue losing loyal players like me(us).
It’s no surprise it backfired. A lot of necromancers are especially sour, and rightly so. They removed the ability to absorb insta-kills in Death Shroud, thus eliminating a fun mechanic, and the only way for a necro to do what nearly every other class can do through blocking, evasion or invulnerability.
They brought in Dhuumfire, which was completely unbalanced, and then nerfed dozens of skills because of it, instead of fixing the culprit. After they reverted Dhuumfire, they didn’t revert all the nerfs to the other skills.
When every class got a new healing skill, we didn’t only get the worst one. We probably got the worst skill in the entire game: Signet of Vampirism.
When ever there is a balance update, the necromancer is always dead last to be balanced, and they usually just skip over the changes quickly (preferably right before a big tournament, where no one plays necromancer).
Defiant and the condition cap still haven’t been fixed after 2 years. Our class revolves around conditions and control, yet these two mechanics are obviously broken in PVE. Yet the balance team continues to balance our class as if these two issues do not exist.
The game pushes further and further towards DPS, and further away from our class mechanics, leaving us in the dust.
Our minion ai hasn’t been fixed after 2 years of them often standing around, not attacking anything.
The devs haven’t visited the necro sub forum in ages. It’s a miracle if they visit once a year. There’s a wealth of good ideas in there to fix the class. So far, none of those ideas have been used.
Following the trend from GW1, life stealing is still rubbish. If they didn’t fix it in over 6 years, they probably won’t fix it in 2 more years for GW2.

Sorry, i tried to respond to your post why i think that way. Of course my post got deleted and i got infracted, what else.
