its not long till the patch so just hold ya horses and see what happens since you still have a Vendeta against Rangers..so far you alone are saying rangers are op , they are not.

OP, your making A LOT of assumptions, and bad ones I might add, while offering no evidence to support your claim. You have already made 3 ranger is OP threads.

Your even making incorrect assumptions about the reasoning of an update. The community has had vast outcry this year about having more frequent balance updates. With some positions having changed personnel, it appear they are moving forward with the concept based on community feed back.

If you truly think it has anything to do with rangers, you truly have my sympathies.

Longbow is not OP. As I said several times it is VERY EASY to play but not OP. A mediocre trash ranger can kill people very easely if they dont react fast enough. Once they fail their rapid fire and use their invul they are dead.

You know how it is, the problem is clearly the build, not a skill differential or lack of adaptation.

I saw the title of this thread and hoped there might be a productive discussion about something like fixing ranger pets, short bow, adjusting main hand sword, etc.

Then I saw who the op was and realized it was just another ranger qq thread.

Haha, I went through exactly the same steps. I’d call it funny that the OP thinks it’s “evident that the ranger is OP in it’s current state” but after reading through his other thread it’s more sad than funny. All this time spent kittening and moaning by the OP could be spent learning to play the game and there wouldn’t be any of these stupid threads, but yeah there you go.

It is not at all evident that Ranger longbow is OP, what is evident however is that OP has a vested interest in trying to get Rangers nerfed, as he is a bad Mesmer player who has chosen to ignore the vast array of techniques that can be used to hard counter longbow Rangers. There are videos and lengthy threads explaining how to tackle the greater longbow DPS, but OP is clearly too blinded by his own personal vendetta against rangers to pay attention. I think it’s a case of, ‘Rangers are harder to defend against than they were and I am too lazy to adapt my play style to take that into account so I want them nerfed’.

Thread track record says it all.

Those 50 posts of QQ on the forums could have been invested in actually playing the ranger with LB. It’s l2p 101, play the class that you’re having trouble against to learn it’s mechanics.

Fix Ranger? Why? ANET has already given your class a game breaking edge. What possible need do you have for any work? I for one hope Ranger is relegated to the back burner for a couple years.. like Mesmer was.

I’ve noticed this misconception you’ve had. Time played (aka pvp rank/profession level) does not equal skill or understanding. These things are not gated by skill, they’re gated by time. In two years after launch, players of all caliber will rank up and level multiple professions to 80. Don’t misunderstand me, the game needs players of all levels. However, to quote your ranks and levels as a testament to your skill is more than likely showing otherwise.

Also, Rangers WERE on the back burner for ages. But you being a level 80 ranger should know that yes?

I dont think they way the other poster used the word range, means what you think it means. He is right and it is a very provable fact. I challange you to prove the distance range of the skills have changed.

I may have misread. It’s 5am after a pvp all nighter. The bow AND the pet have been buffed. It’s too much.

As to time played.. I’m into my second year, approaching 10K AP and have an 80 in EVERY profession. (including 4 80 Mesmers ) 100% map completion.. I could go on.

I proposed an idea that might permit the bow to be backed off without undue howling from the new players.

OP is either playing an entirely different game to the rest of us or ’she’s’ simply making things up now. Longbow range has NOT been buffed, pets have NOT been buffed and Ranger has been the bottom profession since day 1 (though as you clearly haven’t played since day 1 you won’t realise this and can’t see past your ignorance of other professions).

There is overwhelming evidence that the longbow is not OP yet you are choosing to ignore this. Hell, a Mesmer even posted a video showing exactly what techniques a MESMER can use to counter a longbow ranger. Just face it, you are a terrible player and have a completely baseless vendetta against rangers. You are doing nothing more than embarrassing yourself at this point, either that or you’re just a very good troll.

A lot of the new/bad players are the ones playing LB ranger. The damage being easy to execute is enough of a boost. This will just make the problem worse by making the noobs stronger and require less skill to be effective with. This also encourages lower-skilled play at low tiers. All this suggestion does is perpetuate the problem of low-tier baddy play/reliance on ineffective combo use which becomes further punishing later on, and fuel more complaints about “overpowered” kit setups which are the result of disproportionate skill : result requirements which are only punctuated by unnecessary stat buffs.

I play a glassy signet D/D stab thief and have absolutely no problems whatsoever with longbow rangers. Actually, they’re the easiest to kill of literally every class and every build in the game. One dodge roll is enough not to die. They manage to PBS you? Stunbreak and dodge roll. Follow up by tossing down a heal, walk up, and kill them in three hits. Most don’t even know how to play in melee and those that do have been playing the build long before the recent buffs and thus the outcome of the battle is no longer just solely decided on class but an actual representation of how good they are at utilizing an initial ranged advantage and re-gaining that advantage or keeping track of a fast-moving melee opponent.

S/D and S/T ranger, on the other hand… those builds are absolutely terrifying, and I only attempt to ever engage on them unless I’m desperate, they’re crippled/on cooldowns, or know they’re not at all good players. A good S/T ranger will beat me 10/10 times.
