[Mesmer] Scepter needs to be fixed
If the clones added a condition I think that would be sufficient. Like, maybe one stack of confusion on the third hit or something. It would add something interesting to the weapon without making everyone else in the game cry.
I think we have enough conditions from AA in the game already. How about something very simple, and very straight-forward:
Scepter Auto Attack: Ether Blast removed. Ether Bolt and Ether Clone damage scaling increased 15%. Clones created by Ether Clone attack with 33% of the Mesmer’s Attack Power.
What does this mean? This means the Scepter AA chain is a 2-hit chain that spawns a clone every 1.5 seconds, and the clones hit hard compared to normal clones. On a typical condition build, the clones hit for around 100-120 damage each attack. On a power build they hit for like 200 / attack.
I agree with scepter don’t need condition. Scepter clones does bleeding when traited anyway. Confusion suggestion is weak, because confusion damage is weak. It needs more support way, which mesmer lacks a lot. If you want condition on auto attack, just use staff. What mesmer lacks is boon providing. Signet of inspiration only helpful when you have boons from your allies. The only boon generator for mesmer is bountiful interruption and its not enough.
Also, the problem is not only for AA. Other skills more likely designed for spvp/tpvp way. Scepter lacks mobility and lack of that mobility should be supported by defensive approach.

There are boons on this weapon, and… this trait http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Prismatic_Understanding
generates boons.
Maybe you could be a bit clearer in what you are wanting instead of presenting partial information (oh I see what you did there you are being deception clever mesmer).
The main problem with the Scepter, as with many other ranged weapons, is that the #1 skill is just too weak (or rather it’s too slow for the damage it deals). Since the #1 skill establishes the baseline for sustained DPS, this is a major balance issue that preposterously go patch after patch after patch without ever updating or rebalancing.
Examples that don’t support your argument + request for clarity = U MAD BRO.
Seriously just because the you don’t like the option, or it suffers in an environment completely out of the basic game design, doesn’t that the option doesn’t exist.
