As someone who used to play WvW a lot with Longbow before I quit playing, I must say that the new Grandmaster trait looks excellent. Having your shots side-stepped is frustrating.

I just have one worry I’d like to voice:
The Marksmanship line is already overcrowded with Longbow traits. I worry you won’t be able to pick all Longbow traits.

Piercing Arrows and Eagle Eye are a MUST-have. We already can’t pick Signet of the Beastmaster without having to lose one of those.

So, please make sure this new Grandmaster trait can go together with Piercing Arrows and Eagle Eye in one build.

So, I suggest you make it a Skirmishing Grandmaster trait. Skirmishing is currently a worthless line for Longbow with only 1 useful trait: Quick Draw.

You’re already getting a new GM trait for skirmishing, too.

In that case, wow, talk about overloaded trait line. This new trait might not even be able to compete against Eagle Eye and Piercing Arrows. Signet of the Beastmaster already can’t.

The new GM trait isn’t good enough to justify ever using it over any of the other options. They should seriously do some merging and try to create traits that actually diversify the Ranger’s marksmanship role rather than compete against each other in the same builds.

They mentioned reworking some trait lines too, although I don’t know if they specifically did for ranger marksmanship.

For all you know they merged some traits and will make this new trait possible to take without giving up something else.

You got it here, I think this is the main complaint. So much longbow in one line.

I got a feeling someone at anet has longbow fever, as in to paraphrase Christopher Walken from that SNL cowbell skit

“I got a fever..!! ..and the only prescription for that fever… is more Longbow!”

There is actually a Screenshot where they show trhe new unlock system for traits and it happens to be a ranger tree… NONE of out Traits in that line are merged or are swapped to skirmishing

This “trait” is either a disgrace meant to push remaining ones out of Ranger profession or an April joke.

I think this might be quite the design goal.
Same thing with the Mesmer trait, the Domination line has lots of interrupt-helping traits.

The strength of heart to face oneself has been made manifest. The persona Carighan has appeared.
