[New Skills] Focus as MainHand Weapon
I think its a stretch but could work.
I’ve been wanting this for a while. Mainly because then I can two fist beer mugs on my mesmer
I can only support this if engineers get a shield main hand in the same update.

If you look closely, some offhand weapon types (includes Focus) have lower weapon strength compared to main hands
For example…
Exotic 80 sword: 905 – 1,000
Exotic 80 focus: 832 – 883
…. actually looking at all the weapons now, it seems every single weapon type has different weapon strength oops

hmmmm anyone wanna contribute new weapon skills ideas? maybe later i will try to contribute some for mesmer and necromancer since i got play those 2 professions sometimes.
this means guardians, mesmer, necromancer would get 3 new focus skills, the 1st one probably a slow but strong auto attack.
the elementalist would get 12 more skills!
Thing is, you could do this with any weapon, including the weapons which are already animated for the mainhand. You could just give axes to Guardians, Mesmers and Elementalists, and… idk, swords to Necros, and you’d end up with a bunch new skills for each of them.
The offhand weapons are kinda sorta specific for a reason; their trait budget depends on their position. Consider Spiteful Talisman, for example; that’s an Adept Major trait for the Necromancer which boosts focus range and reduces CDs. That’s pretty huge, but no mainhand weapon in the game can do that with an Adept slot.

but they do use focus, so why not make focus into mainhand weapons as well?
after all, the focus act as a device to channel their inner spiritual magical elemental energies etc so it would not be illogical for them to use focus in their main hand too.
regarding the trait, yes, there are some things to consider carefully when making new skills for focus main hand slot 1 to 3 as the offhand traits usually come with extra bonuses.
necromancer focus only increases the range of focus skills by 300, so one way to balance that would be to decrease the base range of necromancer focus mainhand skills 1 – 3 well this is just an example.
for other professions, like mesmer trait causes focus skills to reflect, guardian and elementalist one i dunno.
reflect is powerful, so the recharge time for mesmer focus mainhand 2 and 3 should be around 25 seconds, wait, make that exactly 25. hmmm the problem would be the auto attack skill 1 since offhand weapon skills are originally not designed to have an auto attack skill. in that case perhaps the trait will need to be reworked to not include the auto attack skill, or the auto attack behaves in such a way that it does not benefit much from the trait bonus (mesmer trait focus reflect etc) hmmmm problems problems bah.

Why can’t you support it otherwise?
Make this happen, there is no good reason not to really.

I suggested this, at least for mesmers, sometime last year.
Cant remember the skills, but think I know one of them was:
Singularity – land based version of vortex – spear #5.
ground targeted, press button once casts the singularity which slows enemy movement (maybe do this by applying chill?) in a fixed radius, applies weakness and vulnerability.
While active (5s duration), option to Implode (press button again) – pulls up to 5 enemies towards its centre, dealing aoe damage. Implode is a blast finisher and has a 0.5s ICD after Singularity, before being able to cast.
Cooldown on singularity, something like 25s. Affected by reflection trait.
Idea then is for focus+focus to be a crowd control set.
Why focus? Mainhand warhorn is where its at.
The autoattack inflicts torment and confusion on enemies and dazes the user after its used enough when you get out of breath.

I would like it also with the other offhand weapons torch and warhorn. Two warhorns however seems a little bit odd (since you have only one mouth).
