No balanced weapon range, why?

- Great sword Swing damage = 259(0.7)?
* Great sword Slice damage = 259(0.7)?
* Brutal Strike damage 333(0.9)?
Ranger Auto
- Slash (ranger greatsword skill) damage =203 (0.55)?
* Slice (ranger greatsword skill) damage = 203(0.55)?
* Power Stab damage= 240 (0.65)?
(range is 130 and has a 1sec evade)
(?=power*weapon Strength/Armor)
Don’t use arguments that ranger have better (Blank) you will just get bad response wen you post, make sure you look it up before posting.
and as Guardian have bigger range on there 1-hand sword its because they don’t have added affect like bleed and Cripple that the warrior do have.

Sorry but ranger GS maby does less damage, but they also have a EVADE on there chain and there last hit also does more damage just like the last on warr / guard.. so still weird to give them also more range…
And your argument about guard sword and warr sword is also weird.
They have bigger range because they dont have extra bleeding like warr does?? uhm have you seen there damage and damage multiplier?? its like 0.7 on that and i think 0.5 for warr.. so again kinda weird why they need a bigger range. not only compared to warr, but also with there own GS range..

Still weird why some classes have more range on some weapons that doesnt even make much sense compared to not only other classes, but even with there own other weapons.
you can say Ranger needs it more compared to warr and i totally agree with that, but why give some more range on 1 weapon and not on other weapon?

Why (yeah warriors are already in a good spot) are warriors called Master of Weapons when they have the lowest range on melee weapons? that just doesnt make sense
well mesmer gs has 1200 range and ranger gs has 150!

My apology i didn’t know that bleeding did 0 dam a second i guess i see your point on why war lack off damage on sword. Immobilize and cripple also do nothing right? yea war need a range increase too.
maybe the other class could use immobilize on there sword and have a range decrease any thieves out there would agree on this change.

The range difference is so small (20 unities) that it is probably due the attack animation, to make the range attack animation more plausible the 20 extra range was needed.
I’m not so pro that I can take advantage of that extra 20 range, I can’t even imagine how that would be any advantage.
EDIT: If warriors had the same skills I agree, with the same damage multipliers no, warriors would cry all over the place.
Ranger GS#3 is similar to warrior GS#5 and warrior still have #4 as mobility.
Ranger GS#2 is far from be any burst compared to warrior GS#2.
Yeah ranger’s GS#4 and #5 are nice for sure, but warriors have utilities for that.

Yeah. How can a Mesmer fire lazer beams at 1200 range out of a greatsword, and not 1500 range traited like a ranger can with a longbow? Light travels waaaaay farther than a physical object like an arrow. Geeeeeze.

Why do ranger arrows magically disappear and/or get obstructed by invisible barriers? Why do random blades of grass make a ranger stop and contemplate life halfway through a swoop skill and then remember to finish the leap a few seconds later? Why is the counter attack so slow that people can simply walk out of range? Rangers sure do have a lot of quirks.

Guardian weapon ranges are hard to judge because they use magical energy in their attacks.
For instance the third strike of the sword auto actually has a range of 300 and is a projectile attack ( it can actually be reflected back in our faces )
I does seem a little odd that the two hander autos are so short by comparison, but I suspect it’s to balance out the AoE cleave of larger weapons vs the single target damage of 1 handers.
