Overreaction to new GM traits
People just like to complain, they think it makes them look cool.
I remember people saying changes to healing sig and adding cleansing ire/dogged march was useless when it first came out, now look that it.
Just what I wanted in my DPS power trait line, a healing trait using conditions. PvE version of Dhuumfire is nerfed into the ground, necro are not getting any additional condi support for pve, but hey, warriors get another DPS multiplier.
Yay it’s so much cool to blame…
Simply after 17 months they brought in some new traits to make avialable support and bunker builds (support build with no damage aren’t wanted in PVE - this is not an absolute- and Anet fought a year with Bunkers in PVP), instead of fixing/balancing the yet exhistent ones.
No new skill, no weapons.
SOME People which played for long since release saw all the changes till now, they are experienced about how ANET works, and this, which should be the last hope, left a bitter taste again. Do we have to wait 2 years to play a non defective game?
This seems to be Temporizing at my eyes. Just a try to keep people from leaving furthermore.
Maybe some of the features they’re introducing are a step in the right direction, but given all the errors that they made and keep making, I think SOME people were waiting for something better.
I know that such works require A LOT OF EFFORT, but if you aren’t able to match the requirements… don’t even try.
PS: These are my ideas, this is my opinion, I’m not flagging myself as the herald bearer of anybody nor any group of players. I’m not talking for any community.

Well to be fair that traitline is also for conditions. What irks me is they finally nerfed dhumfire into the ground and we don’t get our other condition nerfs that were done to balance OP Dhumfire reverted.
Yeah. most of the post I am reading are blatant and shameful ignorance. I am not being insulting. I mean blatantly ignorant in the truest definition of the word. Thread after thread telling us how things they have never used work.
There have literally been thousands of post since the live stream of geniuses informing us of how skills, traits, sigils, and runes will work, that they have never used. Not to mention they completely ignore the fact that they have no idea what other traits or skill changes are coming.
Personally I have a lot of fun with the game and its content. It is a great medium to have fun with my friends. The best part are the posters who dislike the game or content, and try to make it there goal to convince us we should dislike it too. It is always fun to read post like that, they assume you must feel the same way they do. They speak of there opinion as fact. It is all very comical.

I didn’t see the part in which they stated specifically that none of the skills or traitsof the necro would not be changing except for dhumfire. Mind posting the time stamp in which they said that??

I am convinced that the average GW2 player who posts on these forums is completely incapable of objective reasoning and instead reacts in a knee jerk manner without any exploration of any possible new builds.
I cannot wait to try new builds on these cookie cutter thinkers.
I think people are focusing way too much on new GM traits with zero thought given to what trait-lines they are sitting in (what if that line is terrible for the build?), or what GM traits people have to lose to gain the new ones.
I know ANet has stretched the whole “wait for meta to settle yo” thing way beyond reason, but in this particular case it would really be quite wise to wait. Some of the traits may turn out to be horribly broken/OP/UP but only time will tell.
The justified negative reactions stem from the fact that they are yet again doing something related to traits and not core fundamental issues with professions. I know that I’d rather hear the team saying that they are reorganizing traits among professions and seriously tackling things like stealth, burst, conditions, cc/kb/kd, weapons, …, …., …., to lay the groundwork for major improvements and overhauls. Unfortunately, though, it looks like the same ol’ same ol’.

This is what happens exactly on the forums people think the changes they want are the ones the devs want. That their visions are aligned but Anet is just so stubborn to not do it.
Instead Anet has a vision uses the forums as a medium but that doesn’t translate to a work priority list. People think what they post on the forums for suggestions are going to be taken word for word and the balance team will start doing those changes to the T. It is impossible to get feedback from the forums I just don’t know how they can organize through it all.

Translation is do something I’m not sure so Ill be vague and call it survivability options. Also of note is that even though jonbrown didn’t say it he wants survivability options to work within the confines of his favorite builds don’t try to make new builds in trait lines people don’t usually go in. This is how alot of these GM overreaction threads look like. OMG this is OP cause DUDE warriors are always going 30 strength in the cookie cutter 0/20/30/0/20 build somehow magic will allow them 30 trait points for 100 total!
The guy that might think thieves need a total rework on stealth to have it nerfed might play a necro and think conditions are OK. See how that works. You can flip that vice versa and it would still be the same thing.

well if u get a gm trait as a mesmer that gives u 1k healing power u kinda wanna scratch your head on this one. if u know how to mes u would know how useless a healing power trait is on a mesmer! also the distortion one is not well thought out as a mesmer would need the distortion more before enemies die… how about if immobilized u gain distortion? just sayin that would be useful….
the mes gms are not very well thought out appart from the interrupt trait that could maybe open a few wvw possibilities.
im just worried that mes will again only get bug fixes, a bunch of useless traits and then nothing to help us in wvw raids where we really need help.

Yes, because the plethora of valid concerns about stealth mechanics, condition meta, nonexistent restrictions to crowd control effects such as immobilize, knock back, knock down, interrupts, over the top burst damage compared to hp, limited build variety, number of active roles to play, meta focused on dps, …, …, …, are all fictional. Also, the fact that many veterans and highly competitive teams are not involved in pvp because professions and combat sucks is also a figment of my imagination.
Sorry to break the news to ya, but I’m not an idiot or blind to the fact that professions and combat in this game need serious help. I’m also not the only one who thinks that way. I actually want to see this game do well unlike people like you who post on this forum with a narrow minded fanaticism that think this game is almost perfect and can only improve by adding in more quaggan backpacks.
