[PvP] The problem with eles
Thats just not having stats where we want them. We either have too little defense or offense in our build. Give us berserker trinkets with 1500 toughness and we wouldn’t be bad

Problem as said is stats.
Having lowest armour and lowest hps yet similar damage puts eles in an impossible situation.
If you want survivability you can never have the damage of other classes.
If you want damage you will be even squishier than the next class up.
That is one main problem of Elementalists, their sustain damage is too low and their burst damage too high.
The key would be to reduce the skills with burst capabilites alot, while increasing the sustain DPS of other attacks. Also, some defensive and control abilities should be improved especially for the builds with most burst capabilites, which unfortunately is a bit complicated, as it depends alot on the weapon, which can be used very versatile depending on armor and trinkets.
And on top of that you have to keep an eye on tanky builds. The Ele is hard to balance

Hes right, spvp really should just let us gear up the same way we do in wvw. It would also make balancing a lot easier as well. My d/d ele feels like garbage in Spvp but in WvW I feel pretty darn amazing! I actually stand a chance vs most classes in WvW! :p
Can’t beat a warrior that knows what hes doing in Spvp, too much heals! But in WvW? as long as I play my dodges right I can actually beat them!

An Ele burst comes along with blowing all their CD’s at once while other classes burst comes with blowing one CD. Their burst should not be nerfed, the comparison is nowhere near equal when all your CD’s are blown while other classes still have something to use. And when we talk about burst its all about s/f Ele as well. Ele needs higher sustain and HP and burst should remain the same unless you want to make it so we only have to use one CD for that burst you can reduce it.

Spec 1. They have a virtually unkillable build in 1v1. At the same time, they do not put out any damage.
Spec 2. A GC ele has the highest burst in the game. If they go down that route, they also die quickly.The issue is there is no viable spec anywhere in the middle.
mmh that is balance? bunker have to bunker. if they do good dmg that be op. i mean u cant kill them and they kill u in longer fights?
and glascannon builds do great dmg but die fast. ele do with fresh air builds one of the highest dmg ingame. so why the hell should they not die as fast as other GC builds?
when i read “elepocalypse” we can expect a new level of unbalance in guild wars.
why? when anet decides to buff a class they buff it to hallelujah. look at warrior and necromancer (not anymore so op).
i predict dmg just slightly less then fresh air gc’s but good defense with easy possibility to outheal all dmg they get.

Bolded the part you need to reread. When a warrior using zerker amulet & jewel has more effective health than an ele using soldiers amulet & jewel you know things are unbalanced right from the get-go.
In every other MMO I’ve played the lack of stats at one location was compensated for an increase in stats in another location. So the abilities of both classes could be balanced without having to factor in the difference in base stats. I’m not asking for 700 more base power on low health classes but Anets way of trying to balance playstyles around the difference in base-stats is simply not working out for them right now.
