May apply to PvE aswell, but not necessarily.

After first evade, be it weapon skill or normal dodge, applies a stack of a debuff for 2 seconds – no penalties here.

After reaching 2 stacks, evades do not apply to the player for the next 3 seconds, giving a fine gap for countering them. Still, all animations are on place, abilities work, just no invulnerability. Might be giving a red trail, graphically symbolizing the ,,exhaustion".

Reasoning: some people just try to keep high uptime of invulnarability, not even actually trying to precisely evade important attacks. They succeed, because the spam is not penalized at all if specced for endurance returns from vigor and sort of traits. This is simply not fun to play against.

Is this a hidden “nerf thieves” thread?

The most classes have no access to more than 2 dogdes (in a row) and the others need the third to survive.

It’s just part of their deffense and they cannot get constrained, because you dont like it.

Additional suggestion: give some abilities an effect of applying said debuff, just like some of them apply revealed, but obviously for no longer than 2-3 seconds and on long cooldown.

I do feel like this is directed to thieves…

However If I invest in endurance regen traits,food or gear I shouldn’t penalized for when I choose to use my dodge. If you can invest in full regen,dps,condition or whatever the same should go for endurance because I don’t tell when to use those and that it is not “fun”.

For everything you invest in you lose something else that you have to make up for somehow that is enough penalization…..

Fighting against an evade spammer is surely not fun, when your attacks totally randomly fail to connect because of a blind evade. These random things make people annoyed and create unwanted chaos.

Also, understand, that you can still invest into endurance regeneration and not be harshly penalized by this mechanic, since you are a skilled player who doesn’t spam… right?

Chaos is what is needed in a fight not burst you down first I admire S/D thieves,blind med guard,chill necro,fresh air ele,PU mesmers,the good p/d thieves and few others one because they can reach the player’s mind and make him panic. I only use to run evade regen when BA wasn’t available on thief the old 0 0 6 4 4 condi build.

Bunker and damage avoidance build are a challenge not that guy complaining because I’m not a normal and average zerker I wouldn’t have gain experience if all builds were damage in the face builds with no sustain. It feels good to win against one and not just farming noobs around.

Edit: Couldn’t forget the celestial ele (celestial war is a little awkward).

Pretty sure a ranger with s/d and the right vigor set up can dodge for days too. Do you really want to nerf ranger, after they just got good news?

Also, could not be a more obvious “nerf thief” thread. If you want to effectively kill 33% of their defense mechanic I dare you justify the reason besides it being “unfair”. It’s not hard to play into their evades and/or AoE or in some cases ward.

Chaos is what is needed in a fight

Chaos is good – are you kidding? For you it is good when your strategy has no meaningful impact on a fight’s result? A little bit of randomness isn’t bad (a lucky/unlucky crit or dodge here and there, sometimes even turning the tables), but once it influences combat too much, it becomes tiresome.

This is a huge buff to tanky “take the hits” classes, such as guards/wars, while a significant, and debilitating nerf to the softies (mesmer, thief). Also I’d like to point out that warriors can spec for the highest “invuln” uptime by far, shrugging off taking any damage at all (and severely neutralizing conditions). So yeah, evade is the least of your problems if you want to go down this route.

Of course evade spam is a thief exclusive, and if you want to target anything you should be targeting their initiative system and their skill spam. So yeah, just introduce cd’s to their evade skills and problem solved.

There are many traits for on dodge providing damage or defense but in case those are irrelevant S/D ranger,upcoming GS ranger,mesmer Blurred Frenzy and Distortion…. allow attack while evading zerker or not. I’m pretty sure you don’t complain about vigor on crit or trait that give endurance regen like on toolbelt skills use,burst skills….

Having faster endurance regen doesn’t mean the whole build is about it they just get eough to apply more pressure and build their damage somewhere else zerker or not. What did you wasted your endurance on vs who mmm???

Warriors have blocks/invulns/heavy
Mesmers have clones/invis
Thieves have evades/blinds/invis
Rangers have evades
etc…

You can’t take away a class defence mechanic and call it balanced.

Surprised nobody is paying attention to this… I mean, the damage on it got nerfed, it became evasion instead of invuln (so you can get hit by lightning aura, retal, onblock, etc)…
