So, Movement skills across all professions are the subject of a lot of topics on these forums, and Warriors are receiving a lot of heat for being able to bounce in and out of combat with such untamed agility.

So I was thinking what if a condition was implemented that affected movement skills?

Exhaustion would be a condition that triggers if you use a movement skill while you are in combat and are under a certain percentage of health, and it would stack in duration.

Exhaustion: Any movement skill that you use in combat while under 25% health triggers 2 seconds of Exhaustion. While under the effects of Exhaustion, the recharge of all movement skills is increased by 50%. While under the effects of Exhaustion, movement skills are 50% less effective.

Rush above 25% Health: 1,200 units
Rush below 25% Health and used right after another movement skill: 600 units

I think this would preserve out of combat movement skills and keep that solid, and also allow multiple movement skills to require some conscious use in combat and provide more incentive to commit to the fight when it gets rough instead of running.

What do you guys think?

It’s called cripple and chill.

That’s true, but apparently those are not enough to slow down players in WvW with all the condi mitigation, and movement skills on Warrior have become a keen subject on that issue. I just don’t think a hard increase on recharge is the way to go when the issue lies with a combination of movement skills being used together.

Come to think about it though, chill + the 50% increase from this would provide hilariously long cool downs.

Well that is something that the development team should address for balance of the game. Maybe remove -condi duration food. But I don’t think that would fix the issue. Instead Anet should look at dogged march and the tier that it is in.

Well that is something that the development team should address for balance of the game. Maybe remove -condi duration food. But I don’t think that would fix the issue. Instead Anet should look at dogged march and the tier that it is in.

Honestly that would be the logical route to take, reduce the +/- on condi duration and look at traits because the whole concept of adding a new condi that keys in on specific stuff is just messy and clunky. I’m just scared of Movement skills getting their recharges nerfed as a simple fix (I’m married to Greatsword and it gives me what I need.)

Honestly, as long as they kept your idea out of PVE and Dungeons, thus only in WvW or PVP then fine. I don’t want to see it in PVE/Dungeons cause it is not needed.

RNG is a bell curve. Better hope you’re on the right side.
