Giving also spirit weapon damage immunity bringing another unkillable AI build into play is a good balance choice?

Its a return to how things were when the Spirit Weapon skills were actually useful. Its maybe faint recognition that the only summoned entities that actually have value commiserate with their opportunity cost are Warrior Banners… which are also immune to being countered by damage.

Sorry Allie, but there arent enough people that know enough about the game and care that much to troll the people remaining to sit down, think up, and type up a bunch of fake patch notes like that lol. The fact that you think we are stupid enough to believe that they are fake, when in reality, they will probably just have one or two here and there removed and one or two here and there added when the actual patch hits, is frankly quite insulting.

We have people who make alternate accounts on their opponent’s servers just to sit in keeps all day wasting supply to make worthless siege to keep the supply in a tower to nothing. You sir, are underestimating how far people will go to troll.

Theres a slight difference in taking 5 minutes to throw an extra account into another server and waste supplies so their home server can win, and taking god knows how many hours to sit down, think up and type up a list like this, just so a few ppl on the forums get their jimmies rustled. Those notes are copied and pasted from the testing forums, just like the last 2 or 3 times, and will be tweaked slightly, just like the last couple times.

You have to pay at least $40 to get another account, because you have to register another copy of the game for that said account. Again, YOU KNOW NOT OF HOW FAR PEOPLE WILL GO TO TROLL!

Those were datamined, not leaked… doesn’t mean they will be implemented, as they are, just that they are a possibility….

I’m actually let down. They looked to fix kitten near every major issue that’s been going on lately. Ranger sword auto, pet AI, turret AI, Engi KR, Engi FT, were a few that really had my hopes up. Alas…

I will say though that those at Anet should seriously read the threads on the forums reacting to the fake notes. Despite the changes not being real, it will give the devs some good insight into how players feel about various possible changes. Things that were hailed as great can be further explored, while things completely hated can be cast out as possibilities and other solutions found if necessary. It also gives Anet more of a feel where the heads of the players are at.

I deeply apologize for the wall of text but this hardly can be resumed on without using very harsh words.

I cant help but think that most of those change where actualy legitimate and couldve opened a window for additionnal build options and this is something that guild wars 2 is cruely lacking in.

I do hope the balance team actualy work something out for ranger and co before april because at the rate the game is going and despite how much i love it i might get to play it way less often (once in a week just so to keep myself visible in guild) once TESO and Dark Soul 2 comes out. The lack of new content after i got close to all my 9 character to 80 and got my weaponsmithing to 500 is starting to bear down on me and making and trying new builds is prety much all what i got left.

Since we are prety much limited in those therm by the current meta and the traitline of class im prety much starting to lose interest like many a player and could just sign off anytime only to return in 1 year or two and spend the 100$ i put in the cash shop every 2 month elsewhere like in a new console or an actual upgrade to my PC. The dev team wont get people hooked up on the game with new armors in cash shop alone or temporary content wich adds a small item wich not even half the player will bother farming for. I aint gunna farm 24/7 for a backpiece if im unsure ill have the time to aquire it and knows it will be impossible to aquire soon, even less if i dont like it, stuff like these shouldnt leave the game so early that you can no longuer get them the moment you finaly have enought money to buy them. I have skipped the whole of scarlet arcs because of temporary gear, lack of actual novelty in the builds and meta redondance to go play stuff like neverwinter (wich was poorly made btway) and WoW mist of pandaria (god save me this is the worst WoW expension yet pvp wise).

What guild wars 2 had and lost with time is that magic that made you say oh my god this game is so inovative so responsive so immersing (lot of game now use the base of active dodge defence guild wars 2 set in because GW2 combat system became a standard in new MMO genre and it will likely go that way for several more years before an even better combat system is added in). In a world where every game is based on the same principe as guild wars 2 (small skill slot bars, active defence, fading of the Holy Trinity and capture the point pvp styled game) what guild wars 2 brings in that the others don’t? Its what the devs needs to work on so that their game despite all the clones around keeps behing the best in those regards.

There is still some of that magic left and theres still time to rekindle the fire but they need to actualy expend on the current game more then they curently do now. While living story bring interesting new content most of it leaves the game after a month or two at best and you end up with nearly the same game as what you bought at release. The game is good but after doing the same quest over and over again you start to seriously get bored.

The issue is you guys needs to give us incentive to create new characters try out new builds and actualy theorycraft our own instead of running constantly the meta build. It just doesnt feel rewarding to run anything else then the 1 or 2 build that has been made by meta player for your class because traitline are either centric in such a way there is only 1 or 2 build option or the utilities just are plenty useless (tell me why would i use this utility if it isnt usefull anywhere to begin with or that trait that is actualy not helping at all?) trait and utility are hardly equals amongst themselve and generaly this lead to narrow minded builds.

Way to fix that is to either insert a GREAT diversity of abilities and by great i mean like 8 or 10 new utility like 3 per ability type (aka survival, minions, phantasm, shout), or to give back some worth to abilities wich are curently deemed as useless (why would an enginer use battering ram and the speed boots or why would an elementalist even use flame axe to begin with).

This could just be a stunt to get feedback on the possibly “real” patch notes coming.

There’s a thread opened by Anet about it.

it’s a sticky to get attention drawn to it.

People are discussing the validity of the notes and actually stating what they like/dislike and what changes they would have actually accepted or not.

Sounds like a good under-the-radar way to refine the actual notes they want to put out but to compress the final version thru discussion in one thread. As many have said this is the first time it was actually mentioned by Anet and this is in the forum where they will be looking for balance ideas.

This is highly unlikely. I mean lets face it. If its a buff to your profession, most people who plays that profession would like it, but other who plays a different profession would not. Same thing in reverse if its a nerf.

So the point of Anet putting out a fake patch notes to get people’s opinion would only really test whether in people’s opinion which of the item is a buff and which one is a nerf.

Plus if Anet really want people’s opinion, all they have to do is ask.

I agree and that’s exactly what I’m saying they might be trying to do here. Instead of sifting people’s input thru the 16+ pages in this forum they isolate it into one thread from whatever understanding they had of what people currently wanted. Then they refine that patch notes further via this thread, or at least hope to. They did ask for people’s opinions via this sub forum’s creation but like mentioned, they got it, and I doubt they’ll sit and read through all of them. Plus there’s always the history of leaked notes being incredibly accurate as well.

The biggest difference being that in the past when the leaks are real, Anet never publicly deny it. Unless you are saying that Anet purposely lie just to get people’s opinion on whether which item is a buff or nerf (its obvious which item is a buff or nerf by the way), I think you can stop with the conspiracy theory.

Blood Shark.
More Survivability.

Healing modifiers.

It was too good to be true. Another heartbreaking news for my Necromancer.

Those patch notes were true—at least some of them. However, we already have a blanket statement coming out from the author of this thread herself that they were entirely fake. I’ll just keep the evidence for now for when the actual update comes along and we find out that plenty of those changes were real.

It’s never good to lie. It’s also never good to lock out the player-base when making balance decisions.

Hey everyone,

I’m sure you have all been wondering whether the ‘Leaked Balance Patch notes’ we have all seen on Reddit are true.

I am here to say that they are not. It appears the poster has taken some of the notes that we have in this thread in an effort to make their own look more legitimate, and mashed them together with some imaginary notes. These are not real patch notes.

This is a reminder that when patch notes are posted by a source other than ArenaNet, they should not be trusted. Particularly in the context of a “leak.”

Thank you for understanding!

I like this game but being left out to dry (regarding my ascended gear) forced me to rethink how much I do. I’ve been playing a lot less since I don’t plan to continue playing this game if I can’t switch my clerics weapons along with my berserker armor and celestial trinkets, but these fake notes got me hoping anet wasn’t just going to let me down this patch.

Of course announcing these patch notes as fake doesn’t rule out the content within it, but without knowing what it is and going off of anet’s past balance records leads me to believe It won’t be good.

It’s unfortunate that they are confirming these were fake. I actually began to get my hopes up that there might be something worth returning to do in the land of Tyria. Those fake patch notes were the caliber of patch notes one would expect from a balance patch and almost met my expectation.

I think the real patch notes will pale in comparison as they always do. Can’t wait to watch another patch preview on Twitch where they show changes then say there will be more and then there isn’t.

I for one am very glad the patch note is fake.

The massive changes basically destroy any way to determine whether any particular change has positive or negative affect.

Even owning a Guardian, I felt that the buff is way too OP that would invalidated other builds.

For those of you think the patch notes almost met your expectation is just silly, and have no clue how software dev or game balance works.
