This issue has been discussed so many times. Here we go again. Ranger pets desperately need a leash range. Their f1 abilities should require ranger line of sight to activate. The amount of times players get chased by ranger pets around an entire map with the ranger no where in sight is obscene. What makes it richer is that if out of frustration you target the pet to eliminate it, right as it is on 5% health, it suddenly disappears when it is recalled to the ranger.

I understand by a-nets own words they wanted ranger to the apex pet profession and as such assigned multiple skills, traits etc to the pet. As an extension of the ranger, there should be limiting rules to them as there is to every profession. Range-line of sight-return protocols-heals.

GW1 limited it to slightly beyond longbow range, which would be a better alternative then the error prone Line-Of-Sight.

They have a leash range. It was patched in 6 months ago. It was due to PvP but I’m pretty sure it’s in WvW too. Your other issues don’t seem relevant.

Not until thieves stop abusing LoS with ports, thank you very much.

Oh, and Ranger pets do already have a leash range.

What!!!?! you want to shorten the useless pet’s leash even further? What the heck are you smoking? You want to nerf one of the most useless, naff, ineffective and under powered aspects of a profession that itself is in dire need of some serious attention as it languishes in the bottom of a deep cesspit off misery and despair!

Sure if the devs are willing to shift some of the power from the pet to the Ranger.

I believe many people agree that the pet need to be less prominent than it is now.

if they were willing to do that, they’d done it 2 years ago. Because that is what the community has asked for, for 2 years…. but since they haven’t, and have barely even discussed any form of “tradeoff” short of the Aspects idea which they brought to the table during the CDI, then shot down 15 pages later… well……

Take a hint.
