Doesn’t the sigil of life increase healing for allies as well? like if u give regen to ur allies, it scales off your own healing power… at least, that’s what I think. so overall, in a group situation, would it be better to take life? or benevolence?
oh, and does fern hound’s f2 skill also heal allies?

Life is better, yes regen and anything from you to someone else scales off of your healing power. Pretty sure pets have a separate trait setup so yeah.
Fern’s heal heal allies (Howl to grant regeneration to nearby allies).
But pet’s healing power does not scale with our own. So for it to be worth it, better take compassion training (BM # IV – 350 healing power increse for the pet – but it’s a combat only trait, so if your pet is on passive beside you, the trait is useless).
It depends on what you want to go for.
First off, you should decide if you want to absolutely maximize the healing done to your allies. If the answer is no, then pick sigil of life. If the answer is yes, then it will depend on what skills you use and what your healing power value is.
It will depend on your healing power value. Since you mentioned regeneration, you will want to be over 960 healing power if you decide you want to use a sigil of benevolence for maximized allied healing. Otherwise, sigil of life will actually provide more benefit.
So if you have over ~1000 healing power and want to maximize your healing done to allies, sigil of benevolence may be up your alley. Otherwise just use sigil of life.
If you’re interested, you could read https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/balance/Sigil-of-Benevolence-vs-Sigil-of-Life/first#post3968235, which takes a look at how to figure out which of the two sigils is better based on your healing power and the skills you’re using.
If you’re just not sure in the end, you’re much safer using sigil of life over sigil of benevolence, especially since it will also be useful when you’re not playing with other people.
