ya you can give thief back the range on short bow also
The only reason they are going about making a tweak to long bow is due to the fact that, with rangers being prevalent in spvp, it became glaringly obvious the lack of counter play to PBS. And much like pin down all they are really doing is removing rangers ability just rotate 4>2 with little to no problem.
As for short bow, you really shouldn’t be camping long ranges with it due to the fact that the arc length you would have to move to regain the flanking status for bleeds is far longer than say at 300. If anything the range change on short bow was to get people to use it properly rather than just for extra pew pew.
Meh, not everything is always about sPvP, even if the devs like to make it seem that way. :P
In response to the post about them making some adjustments to longbow as they feel too many rangers are using longbows now, i have this to say:
if they don’t want too many rangers using longbow, then perhaps they shouldn’t have nerfed shortbow range. i LOVED running shortbow / axe/warhorn on my ranger in the past, but 900 range (the nerf) when you’re trying to use a viable #3 skill, puts you out of range often after trying to be evasive. Give us back at least 1000 to 1100 range with a shortbow as rangers and i’ll gladly switch back to it. Rangers should have slightly more shortbow range than other classes using shortbow anyway.
Could give it the trait to make the distance happen. Just saying, back then it made no sense to have shortbow = longhbow range. Now if you traited for eagle eye you would increase shortbow and longbow so LB still wins but at least the range would be nice.

Yeah the first shortbow changes were probably originally knee-jerk to ranger bots (animation ‘fix’).
The range change however was just ‘balance’ by weaken one option to make the other ‘better’
