I’m playing as a Berserker/Support Healer Guardian and it’s very good. Without my healing my team wouldn’t be able to survive many of the encounters. I’m still not sacrificing a lot of damage as I’m specced into Berserker stat and traits are mostly Berserker.

The problem with GW2 right now is PvE and how you have to sacrifice something for another thing and it turns out to be kitten. Like sacrificing most of your damage for being tanky, a healer or some kind of good support is not optimal, at least not for speed runs, which most people are doing anyway.

The stats that exist now are good for PvP. For PvE they are pretty much useless if everyone is speedrunning. My suggestion is to remove tanky and support stats from PvE and only focus on: Damage and Healing/Control.

Types of damage: Direct, DoT and Conditions.
Types of support: Healing, Control and Conditions.

The only thing you would do here is choose how you want to damage and how much support you want to bring with you. Stats are always the same, but abillities and traits are different.

Power will affect both damage and healing.
Crit will affect both damage and healing.
Precision will affect both damage and healing crit chance.

Etc.

Control will not be affected by stats, but rather traits.

Lets get rid of power , every build will deal dmg and there would be some place for other builds and it would be easier to balance some stats sets on pve,pvp (celestial eles on pvp rocks !! just kidding nerf it pls). Every class will have base power and it would be easier to control it with updates .

One possible method that will incite tons of ragequitting would be to reduce all Power and Condition Damage scaling by 90% making them all around as good as Healing Power. This would effectively give everything a large health boost while also maintaining Toughness, Vitality, and Healing Power’s role in survival. Base damage would still exist, but fights would be long, drawn out attrition battles allowing support builds to thrive. Of course, there are things that would need to be looked at if this change were to occur, such as many, many events and even dungeon encounters (not typically bosses, but just encounters, although some bosses would have to be looked at [I’M LOOKING AT YOU ALPHARD—that is, fighting you non-cheesy]).

Some encounters that would be unplayable without cheese/full-support-teams after this:
Waiting for Magg to blow open the door.
Waiting for gate console to die in CoF.
Alphard.
Brie.
Fractals.
Krait.

Some encounters that would greatly improve from this change:
Lupicus.
CoE golem security console (would need AT LEAST 2 people to attack golems, stopping the cheese 1-4 strat).
AC Charr path (Dessa?)

Basically, it would cause all the mechanics that require teamplay to require more teamplay. Certain fights would need to get toned down to accommodate this, which ends up making it a lot more effort than it’s worth, especially since none of the things I talked about (bar Krait) are about open World PvE which is what would hurt a lot from this.

It would also punish solo roaming WvW.

No offense, guys, but I have to agree with him. It seems none of you have been on the WvW, ever heard about support squads, ever seen the endless battle of warrior with guardian or elementalist with necromancer… or five people with Mesmer. And, it seems, no one wore anything but a berserker.

i mainly play www and yh I have full pvt guardian becasue it is must have , without it i would melt in aoe in few seconds just look on eotm . one ac and 20 people insta dead . Balance is required mostly on PVE , it is kindom of zerkers , it doesnt make sense to use something beyond zerker becasue 95% of bosses melt in 5 sec so you dont need healer,support for what ?! sometimes i cant cast empower becasue spider queen in ac is already dead 0_0

Cast empower, then pull the boss.

The might lasts for ten seconds. The boss takes maybe 5 seconds to get their, you claimed it takes 5 seconds to kill without might, so with it maybe 4.5 seconds leaving you 0.5 seconds of might after she’s dead. EDIT: Any why are you running a Staff Guard in dungeons?

Have someone else pull while you cast Empower?

Or give yourself swiftness, pull real fast, cast Empower, cancel after 2nd stack of might and tag.

I could be wrong but it sounds like you are basically saying, get rid of every possible build that people DON’T use for speed running. Personally i detest speed running and never do it, never will. I enjoy my tank support guardian build and enjoy my casual dungeon runs, i don’t think they should removed all stats that are for tanking and support just because the elitist speed runners cant get their look in less than 30 seconds. Its removing an entire system of stats for less than half of the game’s population.
