Teleports
No sorry, the whole idea behind portal is to move groups around between points where they couldn’t trivially walk in the same time.
Portals ok, even if very very annoying, it at least requires some planning/tactical usage;
its the short cd teleports that ignore los I was thinking of .

And to OP: That kind of stuff is really hard to code. Teleporting through walls and up onto ledges is something anet does not want you to do. But as of right now, it’s not totally game breaking, so they are polishing the world and all the places you can do that one place at a time.

Freely chosen teleports Aka “Blink” (general gaming term) type skills in GW2 such as Shadow step, Lightning flash, and ofc Blink Are designed to some extent to work with the “Z axis” This is proven by the dev’s comments during the preview of the Courtyard map.
Balance is not designed around 1v1 sitting on a point or fighting on a flat (which unfortunately the game design promotes for “Viable play”) and use of terrain over certain targets IS a defensive position based tactic for true glass cannons.
Targeted skills such as Flashing Blade, Judge’s Intervention and Infiltrator’s Strike that require no LoS I don’t think is intended and is overly abused and should be nerfed to require proper LoS
^Even mesmer’s illusionary leap should properly fail due to lack of line of sight, but at least in this case there is an obvious tell when it could come through a wall.

Engineers are good roamers. Warriors are good roamers.. The other 4/5 classes which have blinks/teleports are good roamers. Kinda seems that the only two classes which aren’t good at roaming are necros and guardians, one of which has a few teleports/blinks.(guardian)
It seems that teleport skills are not a major culprit when it comes to being able to roam well. A minor culprit, because they allow for some degree of mobility, but are in no way the single reason as to why roamers are succeeding. (IE: Guardians have two teleports and are not good roamers, while engis and wars have no teleports and are great roamers.)

Necro has some teleports also. Spectral Walk and Flesh Wurm.
Also worth mentioning, Many teleports only work when you’d have a clear path you would walk to the target. JI and its ilk aren’t going to let you cross thin air

It is interesting that coding is different from the boardwalk in Temple and Khylo ? (forget title, the one with the trebuchet) (as well as roof of latter) and other structures.
Likewise JI on guardian is similar to infiltrator’s strike but different from an ele or mesmer blink.
Complicated.
Kinda sucky imo that positioning becomes largely irrelevant on said maps and proff’s with blink abilities reach a point far faster by simply blinking through the floor/roof.

Roamer as in ganking, that is only mesmer and thief right now, because of their blink abilities that can go through floors and walls which can be used as engaging and disengaging.
Warrior is a point fighter, and engineer is AoE pressure type.
as of guardian, because it’s blink skill can only be used as engaging and has a rather long cool down and if it choose to have the second sword blink skill, then it lacks good range option.

Can we remove the teleporting through floors/walls pls?
It would benefit the game in 2 ways:
1) It would go a long way toward making proffs without teleports valuable as roamers
2) It would allow for zerker builds that rely on positioning for defense more play.
I would like to see these abilities fixed to behave consistently (I don’t really care which way the fix goes as long as its consistent). But my understanding is that this is a world coding issue with specific places. So it works on some places where it shouldn’t, and doesn’t work in other places where it clearly should.

Spectral walk is barely a teleport. It teleports you backwards to where you started. That doesn’t help roaming at all, and the flesh wurm needs to be summoned THEN teleported to it i.e add .25 second cast time to it; not to mention it can be destroyed as well. Necros aren’t even worth mentioning in regards to teleportation.

Engineer doesn’t have ports and it’s a strong roamer, don’t have to have ports to be good at roaming.
