[WARRIOR] the grandmaster trait "Furious"
3 adrenaline per critical hit seems fair for a grandmaster trait.
why was it reduced to 1 adrenaline per critical hit?

why was it reduced to 1 adrenaline per critical hit?
no one knows, it got ninja nerfed sometime before the last feature patch.
to be honest all of the grandmasters traits in Arms tree line are plain useless not just Furious.
Furious seems good only for LB aa. For anything else, meh.

Actually, half our Grandmaster traits never see use due to being underpowered or plain useless.

Really, you can extend that statement quite a lot. It would also be true to say ‘A majority of grandmaster traits for every class in the game never see use due to being underpowered and/or completely useless’. It’s a systemic problem for sure.

I wasn’t argueing about other classes. And you’re right.

but at least you get one useful grandmaster in other tree lines.
Strength got Berserker’s Power
Defense got Defy Pain/Spiked Armor
Tactics got Vigorous Shouts/Phalanx Strength
Discipline got Burst Mastery/Heightened Focus
but in Arms all grandmasters are bad, no warrior go 6 in it.

Sword > furious > Flurry > full adrenaline again.
Sword > furious > Flurry > full adrenaline again.
Who the hell sits in the entire sword burst? No, no, why would you even finish the entire burst?
Also, I think Flurry only hits 12 times? If you have a 70% crit chance (which is quite high), you’d be getting something around 20 adrenaline, which is two bars, not full.

spend adrenaline to gain adrenaline,, so Genius.. clap clap.
but what about the initial adrenaline? so i can spend adrenaline to gain more adrenaline, what about if i don’t have Sword ?!
/facepalm
on the serious side, how about you give me a build that uses the current Furious ? a build that actually work plz .

even if hes right, its a bad logic if i wanted adrenaline then i don’t go spend adrenaline so i can gain adrenaline ?!?!?
come on ANet make this GM trait useful.
+1 – fix it already. 3 strikes sounds fair!

yeah 3 strikes does seems fair, it is a grandmaster trait after all.
Even if it gave 3 strikes would you take it? In PvE there is not much use for it and in pvp cleansing ire gives enough adrenaline. Maybe it is better to give it 3 sec of fury to allies on cirt with an icd of 3 sec to make up for the loss of fury with the signet of rage nerf and the greatsword F1 change.
Furious seems good only for LB aa. For anything else, meh.
Off-hand Axe.

at the moment, together with sharpened axes trait, we can get a total of 1 + 1 + 3 = 5 adrenaline per critical hit if we take furious as well.
so if furious gives 3 strikes of adrenaline, we can get 1 + 3 + 3 = 7 strikes of adrenaline per critical hit!

come on warrior already poops fury, all we need is this trait to work as a real GM in what it does which is generating Adrenaline.
talking from pvp/wvw perspective dont care for pve, i would drop cleansing ire and take it, if you compare it to CI, CI is way superior, you get Adrenaline when u get damaged and cure conditions on burst hit Plus its a master trait.
Furious should be the best Adrenaline generating trait since it does nothing else for a GM trait.

given the change to adrenaline retention, OP suggestion seems fair and worthy of a GM trait………not every build has a LB .
MARA (EU) Gunnar’s Hold
Since warrior is getting adren use nerfed, lets buff adren build up so the nerf is irrelevant.

how ?
this trait in arms trait line a GM, the meta hambow invest 0 points in arms trait line.
current hambow already got “Cleansing Ire” & “Burst Mastery” way better adrenaline gaining traits than “Furious”
if the current hambow wants “Furious” then he must drop either “Cleansing Ire” or “Burst Mastery”

Welcome to the world of guardians.
About 1/3 of all our traits are extremely under powered or only useful in extremely gimmicky situations.
This trait works against multiple targets and has no internal cooldown. AoE, fast weapons, and multi-hit attacks benefit a lot from it to the point where you can be at 100% adrenaline in a few hits.
It does not need to be changed — not every trait needs to be tailored toward 1v1 duels with slow weapons. If it were made to be 3 strikes of adrenaline, it would need to have a 1-3s ICD which would be a nerf overall.

you need to crit to make it work, even if i build a high crit chance warrior i wouldn’t take it in current state.
compare it to cleansing ire and Burst mastery, why would i go for Furious when i have these 2 ?!
with CI every hit warrior takes give him 1 adrenaline + if he used his burst it cleans 3 conditions + its a Master trait .
Burst mastery gives you back one bar of adrenaline for free after using your burst + 7% more damage on bursts.
i wonder why Furious a GM after this, hell even adapt traits are better.

It’s not really a contest IMO, also this topic focussed on warriors. I am sure Guardians have similar issues as you are adressing here.
Although i am also pretty sure warrior traits are 1/3rd useless too.

Burst mastery are too important now in order to proc cleansing ire.
And it will be even more important after adrenaline nerf.
In all, warriors are stuck to burst mastery even more alone with cleansing ire.

btw your math is wrong.
per wiki sharpened axes gives 2 adrenaline but in fact its bugged and only gives 1
so Axe crit with furious + sharpened axes = 1+1+1 = 3
but really thats a bad build if you asked me, the 6 points would be better spent in Strength there are better traits there for off hand Axe .
