Warriors vs Guardians Post Feature Patch
I havn’t been playing much since school started recently so I havn’t gotten around to playing with the new changes much. Warriors used to be gods at just about everything while guardian was able to fill niche roles. Has this changed? How have their viabilities been affected in wvw, pvp and pve?
A quick look at the update notes have given me the impression that warriors have been nerfed all around while guardians remain pretty much the same with small boosts here and there.
I just want to hear some of your opinions on each class’s viability now that the patch has been out for a few weeks. Thanks!
It’s the same as it was.
People who actually learned how to play the warrior and guardian are still playing.
Still wrecking.
Warriors and Guardians are still top tier meta.
Still wanted in dungeon groups
Still frontliner’s in WvW
Guardians are still burst monsters
Warriors are still newb stompers.
Dont worry, 2 more balance updates and warrior will be like necro on pve xD
warrior is fine atm. The only change they made to warrior that MATTERS, was making it less forgiving when playing carelessly. By this i mean, if you try to mindlessly spam your burst skill without a second thought or worrying about even hitting, then you will have a hard time playing warrior.
If you got a few braincells and a minimum of about 3.25 seconds of attention-span then you should be able to set up and land most, if not all, burst skills. Thus, warrior is still wanted for PvE, WvW, PvP. All it takes is using your brain.

PvE = Warrior is fine since mobs don’t dodge/evade/block/spam blind/go invuln (much)/etc.
WvW = Warrior is hahaha … lol … nerfed heavily and worthless in havoc/zerg meta to boring to play/why bother (read, somewhere in between) – [read Prysin’s comment, 3.25s to set up a F1 burst = not fun (especially since all Warrior attacks already feel really slow)]
Guard is as strong as ever in WvW and PvE but still has limited build options

Hahahaha i find this very funny the war begins to feel the pressure when they fight the guardian on equal ground having some of guardian lost weapons (sword shield hammer…..)
Do the guardian have escape skills – NO
Warrior -YES
Do the guardian have long range weapon skills -NO med don’t count scepter slow very slow(just poking the target )
Warrior -YES two even
Do the guardian have hi health pool with a signet that heals better than a virtue (pasive, note the warrior doesn’t use the signet that often) -NO
Warrior -YES
And so on…..

And here we have a perfect example of someone who doesn’t understand “Balance”
You just compared a virtue to a healing skill.
Guardians have different traits, abilities and damage/healing than a Warrior. You can’t just say “ogm war heal sig dus moar dan muh virtoo”, you should compare what the Guardian have in return for having low hp.
Aka, you should compare the Healing Signet to Signet of Resolve or Shelter, not your profession mechanic, kthxbai.
They are both good if you know how to play.
That being said they could both also use some love when it comes to few things as well.
For guardians it would be in the effectiveness of some weapons & a look at their traits (they have about 20 or so that are worthless) & how easy they are to kite.
For warrior it would be a look at the rifle, a couple of traits and possibly adding something to compensate for when a burst skill misses. (say gain might when it misses).
Warrior and guardian are both TOO reliant on cooldowns.
That is how you beat them. Force them to blow cooldowns, then pressure and you win. Guardian is more “lenient” this way, due to design, but warriors are especially easy to beat once their invulns, stability and/or block is on CD.
