I really think we need a public testing server. Where op tier players can test new balance stuff. Main reason is that the developers (no offence) have no where near the skill lvl of the actual really good players.

For example the dev team got beated by the Chinese team really hard (at least that’s what they said during gamescon) and the Chinese team was the weakest of the 3 teams.

So the developers can test all they want but they will never be able to test it in the same way the best players at the game can.

Specially when there are upcoming esports events with even price pools you would want the game to be balanced. And at this point it also has to be clear where they are balancing for. Are they balancing for spvp/wvw/pve or even low lvl spvp or absolute top tier spvp?

What do you think about a public test server?

I support a public test server as well. However, it tends to become a cluster of people that aren’t actually testing, but rather just want to see the new content and post youtube vids for free views.

If you restrict access to certain parties, you are basically doing the same thing the devs already do – small, narrow focused people testing only what they want to see. After all, many players on top teams, while certainly good at the game, are that good with only 1 or 2 professions, and they tend to be the same professions as everyone else. Where would that leave the non-guardians and -warriors and -thieves?

Ya i agree on that people just want to do it for views. But when you say you’re not allowed to do so and if you do you will be removed from the test server, should fix that problem.

Also you have to make sure you get someone from each profession who mains it. Else it wouldn’t be use full.

Give us a public test server so the good players can give feedback on the atrocity that has been the past 2 feature patches. Mainly because the first feature patch not improving the Necromancer, and the Guardian didn’t receive anything useful in the first feature patch, so please let us run some tests on these updates!!!!!
