When is the next balance patch?
Man if Anet put much more time into balancing this game could be way better then it is right now! These 4-5 month in-between balance patches is not the way to go. Also seems to leave a lot of people super frustrated in the end.

Any more time in balancing and game would become warrior wars 2.
Well ANet seems reluctant to release balance patches during major PvP related events. Currently we have the Tournament of Legends, so you’ll most likely have to wait until that’s over.
Which is such a horrible idea. I could be wrong, but it is hard for me to believe the PvP community spends anywhere near the money on the game then the PvE and WvW communities do. They seem to refuse to allow a PvP community to build organically, and push it so hard, and I am fine with that. What bothers me is that they push that on everyone by forcing the rest of the game to live by the PvP balancing and changes.
Until they separate PvP from the rest of the game, and add some variation in game modes for PvP, they are not going to get but so far with what they are trying to do.

Next balance patch will be Soon™. Most of the features are In the Works™.
You will know when we got something to show you™

2 year anniversary coming up. Wonder when that 8th class will be added.

ToL ends and then Gamescom is within a few weeks after that, so we probably won’t see another balance patch until September at the earliest, and that’s the optimistic prediction.

yup… september is most likely the next one, as that would perfectly fit into their 6 month patching schedule.

Nah. U still can kill some bad warriors. They need to fix it. Warrior should have infinite hp and 20k dmg per sec for the sake of balance.

Six more months of “updated tooltip to reflect x” huh? That’s a bit grim.

Nah, the grim part is when we get to that 6 month mark and the “big update” is 50% “updated tooltip to reflect x”

Well. They would add some very essential thing. Like 1 new rune. And then they would need 1 more year to see, how meta would balance around it. And only then they can balance.
Wrong forum. Devs never read Profession Balance forum. Post it somewhere else.
Best they don’t interfere with the almighty meta, let it soak in for 6 months to see if the edges get smoothed out.
break. I feel like they should be back by now..”

I also want to post similar question. Do they think balance is achieved? If so, they do have plan to change things up, shake things up? tbh, it is getting boring now that the community have explored almost everything.
We are in the skill fact meta….
We are in the skill fact meta….
and this meta is a strong one. It will last for a while, i predict.

Wasn’t there one update last year that specifically tackled making tooltips clearer and traits better explained in game?
Anyone else remember that?

Yes, I do. Like all changes that get made though, they have had to take patches since then and continue shaving the tooltips until they get them balanced.

I’m still awaiting until they do something with conditions in pve, ya know make them more viable? psst I know that’ll never happen. I suppose zerker it is.

They still need another 2 years to fix bugs that persist since beta and balance professions.
Adding another profession now would also add more bugs and more balance problems.

It was a joke because they’ve ignored Rangers for 2 years now and the class could be removed from the game tomorrow and no one would care or notice.
Well they removed the sparing ranger npc from the heart of the mists, I guess that’s a start.
Yeah its an utter joke.
just play Warrior Casually. dont buy Gems in gemstore.
let them suffer.

You guys are way too demanding. It takes a lot of effort to focus exclusively on tool tips.
If I remember correctly, they stopped doing the more frequent skill balance (a.k.a pairing balance with content updates) because they said they had evidence that some significant portion of the player base was only acknowledging either the PVE content part of the update or the balance part. Something about releasing both at the same time was too confusing or misleading for these players and lead to greater dissatisfaction than what we have now. At least, that is what they have stated publicly.
I remember an older thread where someone discussed at length the merits of “failing faster” at balance and putting out more frequent balance patches. It was an interesting read but definitely seemed at odds with the workflow at Anet. I get the feeling we all want Anet to function as a business like any other boiler plate MMO (trinity, tab targeting combat, open world pvp, etc.) but I really do think that they have different challenges and our expectations don’t reflect that. Not that they have to, the invisible walls in game development/design are intended to remain invisible. Still, budget limitations has definitely been one of the most frequently cited reasons, that I’ve seen, by developers and staff for not being able to implement certain features (condition damage rework) but a reasonable person might conclude that there is usually more than one reason for the unaddressed problems that we have in game at the moment.

Well at least we see skill fact updates every month…. sigh lol
Who cares bout skill update facts, especially compared to some balancing.
Could those ppl not be working on balancing instead? I know it doesn’t work that simple but it should be rather obvious people are in dire need of balancing updates instead of everything else, including new content.

You ever looked at other mmorpg’s or games and see how much effort they put in balancing?
From you’re beloved thieve community.
(I am not sure what kind of demographics a.net has, so just pick whatever you like)

Hope we get one soon, those tooltips won’t sort themselves out.
The funny thing is: they’re losing players because of it.
The funny thing is: they’re losing players because of it.
They’re losing players from a lack of action. They can talk all day (which is rare), the extremely long time between “balance” patches is making everything incredibly stale and upsetting people who are tired of running into the same kitten builds day after day. I want something new, and although the LS is finally bringing in some old time mechanics that I loved (actual weather, more environmental hazards, more skill based encounters like the flanking fern hounds) pvp is just a daily to me atm.
No one really knows what they’re doing, they just don’t communicate or act nearly enough. I was under the impression that their bug fixing team was separate of their balance team :/
