When will we see the next balance patch?
based on the “ready-up skillbar segments”, Late Sept/early October at the soonest….then wait another year for the next one.
MARA (EU) Gunnar’s Hold
not soon enough. anything more than a month between balance patches means the game doesn’t take itself seriously enough to be worth playing. IMO.

correct answer! Although I think ArenaNet might be slowing down so we might want to bump that to a year and a half for the next one to be safe.
when the sun rises in the west and sets in the east,
when the seas go dry and the mountains blow in the wind like leaves.
then… we shall have a balance patch.
we got 3 more ready-ups so that means last one is on 5 sept. If they would follow the 2 week patch thingy then 9 sept would be the first date there they have talked about all balances and do a patch.
so i EXPECT 9 sept or 23 sept. In other words 1,5-2 months
Depends on sPvP. That’s all they care about with balancing, sadly.
There are 3 more ready ups at 2 week intervals, but we also need the ToL to wrap up too? Which I think would happen sooner than the RUs, but still I’m sure that also needs to happen.

meanwhile, PvPers complain that they get unjustified nerfs and no new things because of PvE, and that ANet only cares about PvE.
biased perspective is an amazing thing.

Yeah but what is that perspective based on? The actual patchnotes? Those are so few and so far in between that I might as well argue they’re based on non-frustrating moments of crafting successes in WildStar (:P).
But what about the twitch stuff? Tons and tons and tons of sPvP.
Yes, I get it, initially only PvE and WvW were advertised, as a result virtually no one interested in sPvP picked up the game and now they have to be all “we’re eSports, seriously!” to try breathe life into it.
But that’s what enrages me so much about it! So much focus, so much dev time, so much effort. For such a minority game mode! Meanwhile something as big and as heavily advertised as WvW is basically lying there getting nothing. LS doesn’t affect it (much, and every time it did it was by theme only, not in story), and the dev interaction is all about sPvP. Not that PvE is getting any more attention by those devs, only the content team.
So basically:
- Content team should acknowledge there’s WvW and sPvP. sPvP is ofc iffy but at the very least, reward tracks for cosmetic sPvP-only rewards maybe like special finishers or titles.
- Balance/Patching team needs to realize most play PvE/WvW, and start acknowledging that imbalance is no less frustrating for a player in those modes.
- PvE designers need to realize that mob-smartness is directly related to balance-ability of PvE content. Toxic Alliance was a step in the right direction. More of that, and more different mobs more intelligent. Only then will we feel like we actually need our plethora of abilities.
