Incendiary Powder: 4s burn, 10s cooldown, on crit, master trait
Dhuumfire: 3s burn, 10s cooldown, on crit, grandmaster trait

Can you please explain the logic in Dhuumfire being nerfed but not Incendiary Powder?

It was mentioned that Dhuumfire is too easy to apply so you are making it harder to apply however my condi engineer applies a 4s burn at 1500 range with auto attack as opposed to my condi necro doing a 3s burn at 1200 range (using a grandmaster trait).

Gotta love these necro tears.
Anyway don’t worry, it will be nerfed eventually.

(it seems really resonable to me to cry for nerfing another class when your own class is getting nerfed)

I do not want either to be nerfed, but to be fair my engi applies burning more frequent and easier than my necro.
The only reason I can think of is that grenades are much slower and travel in an arc making it not as instant like lets say scepter 1.

Please do not compare IP with Dhuumfire only. Compare Necro Torment vs Engis Torment and necros Terror with Engis fear and terror.

Or because engineers already have other sources of burning, so that trait isn’t as important as necros as far as inflicting burning goes.
And by putting it in master trait they already restricted that tree just to bomb and grenade users – the adept slot has no decent general trait now.

Because these two traits are one of the best examples of why not to just compare something one-on-one, because the profession its on is very important aswell.

Ready?

Engineer’s staple condition is burning. Even without IP i can keep burning up 100% of the time.
Having IP does not add dps under most circumstances, it makes my Burning (what my dps relies on) more reliable. Especially against heavy cleansing.

Necro’s staple condition is not burning. You dont have any burning at all. The moment you pick up Dhuumfire, you’re damage goes up by a whooping ~800damage per second, on the typical condition build.

See the diffirence?

Engineer; reliability. Necro; kill stuff faster.

And thats why Necro is getting his trait nerfed, as it adds to much dps to that build. Something it doesnt do for Engineer, its probably more powerful on non-condition builds that dont stack burning.
And theyve already moved it out of reach of most of those builds when they moved it to master-tier.

As for the big condition whumbo-condition-combo, with guarenteed burn on lifeblast i dont think this really changes much at all. Considering how that big burst goes, all we’ll see now is a Lifeblast thrown in there for good measure. I dont think Necro’s shouldve gotten Burning at all.

You can’t simply compare 2 class abilities. You have to compare the full package.

I command you to be AWESOME.
