The feature patch was nice and added some interesting new traits to the ranger lineup, some good, some not so good. However, the Ranger has ALWAYS had strong grandmaster traits. Grandmaster traits aren’t the problem. The ranger is in dire need of class-defining master and adept traits. The majority of rangers end up picking reduced cool down traits because frankly, the choices are very limited and the class is riddled with use-impaired traits. We have very few strong adept or master traits.
What our adept/master traits don’t provide:
-ANY! condi removal below grandmaster
-25% movement speed buff
-reliable form of swiftness
-reliable physical damage buffs
-decent regen trait (the grandmaster trait is op 1v1)
-class mechanic traits (most are either just annoying for your opponent (cripple on wolf/spider abilities) or just plain useless.
-class defining traits (we have a lot of evades, how about might when you evade an attack or a “mini” attack of opportunity for 25% bonus damage on your next attack.)
The minor traits go from really useful to bad (marksmanship).
