That’s what you get when you give a class a stunbreak that has a stunbreaker that breaks stuns twice, teleports you, and clears conditions all in one package, on top of multiple ways to stealth at little cost.
Teleports+ stealth+ burst makes the class a roaming king. It doesn’t matter if it isn’t the best at 1v1 because whatever counters it has 1v1 it can easily escape from and quickly come back to harass or land a finishing kill when it’s more opportune.
Escapes and target drops/immunities are the strongest form of mitigation in this game, and it’s why warriors and thieves are so good at roaming. They can get in, land some easy burst and CC, and then get out as quickly as they got in.
A necro? Get screwed if you get focused prepare to be pinballed to death. Guardian can’t run away either and ranger gets destroyed by roots and stuns as rangers have complete garbage for condi removal and stunbreak skills.

Like one said before, I’d rather fight two thieves over anything else. Yea they hit hard but they also die the fastest. You can drop them quick with good preparation and end the fight. But, with say two warriors with their sustain and decent damage as well, you could have a much longer fight on your hands.
I’m not sure how to put this, but in SPvP vs any two thieves its basically impossible to control your character for any amount of time when they are on you with the continuous boon steal. This is even worse on a warrior considering the amount of damage warrior steal does. with steal for boon rip, larcenous strike, stuns and immob there really is no functional way to deal with this.
I understand I am talking about a 2v1 in many cases, however, unless you are in tpvp with ts, any coordinated set of thieves will 2v2 by easily focusing one player down and avoiding any cc the other person is attempting to do by randomly evading or dodging.
Yeah I’d rather have 2 thieves than 2 of any other class on me. Thieves are easier to handle.

In numbers, they dont take many. They just have a broken 20s CD STABILITY interupt.
Meanwhile, on the anti-boon side, corrupt boon which prioritizes stability LAST, gets a cast increase

Not meant offensive, but some boon priority lists are simply unfair.
You rely on stability to pull off a long casting time action? Well, a class can steal those boons. The powerful thing is the interrupt+ boonsteal combo in one ability, but trickery thieves ( not speaking of S/D, mainly D/P 2/6/0/0/6) have 0 defense from traits, it’s fair that they get a tool against boons. There’s no real solution except a complete revamp of the trickery traitline, imo. Upping the steal cooldown wouldn’t achieve much in pvp ( because stability is usually on long cd abilities). Maybe an UI change to display the steal availableness, to make it easier to avoid?
Id be for getting rid of daze.
The CD reduction is huge and gives u more uptime onthe good stuff. Also d/p needs it for burst and gap closer, while it has a greap interupt on #4
S/d loses a the 1-2s of free damage and has to backstab for interupt
Id even give d/p a reduction of 4 to 3 initiative on pistol#3 to compensate
Get some rangers to counter stealth with Sic Em, very deadly if you use it on the right moments.

Because game doesn’t have average or better thiefs. Thief is lame and good players don’t like lame classes.
