I love playing warrior because of the idea. but it end up that it is a kitteny class. his adrenaline mechanic is very kitteny! most of those F1 skills are useless. and to get a passive buff you need to drop many traits points. so no! the idea of the bonus 15% dmg passive won’t make up for that kitteny mechanic. look what other classes got! i am not going to name them because i believe you all aware. and at pvp he is the worse class! i fight every classes. and unless they are stupidly unskilled that try to take a warrior by run into his atks, i couldn’t kill. so what if i can kill a elementalist that try to fight like kitten? if i would fight one that know just a bit how to play i won’t have a chance. there are a lot of balance to do for a warrior because the winning with warrior now won’t be about how good the warrior play but how bad the enemy dose. that is wrong. and a balance should be make.

well first and for all change his adrenaline mechanic and i got a great idea. “charge” the adrenaline bar will be keept but the F1 skill will be change. and what it will do is by cost of 1 bar, the next skill the warrior use will have bonus effect. such as knocking up or bonus dmg. some after buff. no cd. and act.

let me explain why it would be a good idea. as warrior you have the most poor control in the game you can dodge or spam as half the others can. basically as i see that. warrior is very clear type of class. he don’t have any tricks as the others. and for me the right thing that need to be done is that if warrior avoid and see through the traps, invisibility, illusions and act’ he should be the one that kill. so with the “charge” system when he hits it will be effective, he need to know when to use charge and for what skills. who is real and who isn’t.

another option is that his mechanic will be 3 weapons hold. instead of 2. unique thing with the warrior is his many weapons options yet it don’t really got much use if he can use only 2. that are usuly a defalt because they got stun or leap. giving warrior 3rd weapon will give him the abilty to use the right weapon for the situation.

@Drago, some helpful advice: looking at your other posts, it appears you run a really glassy axe/axe mace/sword full melee warrior, which is actually very bad against thieves and mesmers.

Try running a melee set with a longbow, and make sure you have burst mastery and cleansing Ire traits. You will do much better in general with a setup like this.

War in pvp is over many classes , a soldier Axe/sword + bow might stacking (aka ROM’s build) is doing insane damage / pressure and is nearly unkillable.

And since when does war have no control ? Never Heard about hambow builds ?
Access to multiple AOE interrupts , Cripple , Immobilization .

If you lose most of your 1v1 ask yourself if you are playing right , instead of asking to buff a over the top class.

You are right, warrior doesnt have a lot tricks(utility), no teleportation, no clones, no boon for survibility, no insta cast damage skills, most of the skills are extremely telegraphed.

That’s why warrior sucked so much back then, even tho they had a bit more condition clear then mesmer, warrior still gets killed by condition more.

Back then, i’ve posted threads and others have posted threads about giving warriors utility, so they gave us berserker stance revamp, that was so far away from what i imagined, i guess in anet’s mind, warrior should not have those tricks that can get some on out of trouble instantly, instead, warrior have to stay but being immune for a period of time.
i was hoping for faster movement skills, skills with more use ( 2 phase skills) so more complex gameplay and look awesome too. but no/

Sizer: almost every class can beat a hambow 1v1 if played at a proper level.

Warrior now is only strong simply because of it’s passive sustain, berserker stance, and aoe CC that is helpful in team fight. and against noobs.

also warriors are pigeonholed in to stances, there’s no other way. other classes gets little bit of everything with in one build, while warrior does not have. axe/sword l/b does not have any hard CC, because again, only 3 stances are viable( 3 self sustain skills).

I agree that the warrior mechanic could use a bit of work, mostly because the question of whether you should use your burst or not can be easily determined by the following flowchart:
Is your burst bar full → No: Wait another three seconds, Yes: Use your burst skill.

There’s pretty much no reason to ever not use it off cooldown unless you’re using GS, which in my opinion is pretty boring.

I don´t agree with every point the TO write down. But the most people here that rage against warrior didn`t play a warrior. if the stances are used he is a free kill for most of classes. If you can’t kill a warrior and still think he is one of the most op classes you should badly delete your acc and deinstall the game. Most op right now is engineer (insta 18 stack confu and more possible + condi overload), ele (celestial), necro (fear like a troll with condi overload on you), mesmer (pu trolls). For a pu or a necro you don’t need any player skill. Before everybody rages i play all classes and right now warrior is one of the weakest.

You forgot Flurry. It’s utility is pretty amazing. It’s massive bleed, aoe immobilize, pretty easy to land as well.

I don’t see how adrenaline is poorly implemented. Getting a free 15% crit chance and 15% damage modifier is pretty nice, which can then be expended into a powerful skill (GS aside), no? Maybe GS needs a change, but killshot is certainly viable. It’s called blowing your opponent’s negation and then bursting them when they have none left. This is a strategy that is employed by many other classes, often necessary to actually kill the warrior.

I’ve played everything to 80 in ascended except engi and necro, and so far I can safely say it’s been the easiest class to roll in both PvP and PvE.

Pve Wise, You can’t seem to understand how getting free 15% damage and 15% crit chance for NOT spending your class mechanic skill at all is NOT a good implement, like seriously.

Kill shot is not viable, at all, why would you killshot if you will have 15% damage and 15% crit chance reduced for using it.
and in PvP, it’s just a kittenty skill that does not worth mentioning. go ask any experienced pvp players if they will ever use it in any serious matches, they will say hell no.

sure, “blowing your opponent’s negation and then bursting them” sounds good, but it does not apply to kill shot for how kittenty it is.

Thieves get a bonus for not using their initiative.

Mesmer mechanics are full of tension between keeping your illusions up and shattering them.

You can spec a warrior or mesmer to reward never activating any of your utility skills.

So, I dunno, is this a big deal? I mean, burst skills tend to reward spiking and spike damage just doesn’t matter much in PvE. It’s all about sustained pressure since enemies have a bajillion hp but their incoming attacks are so predictable.

In 1v1, yes you are right. but with XvX fights, Kill shot is not that easily to avoid. You kneel down and everyone will have to start watch you or waste a dodge, that’s great for your team.

Yes I would rather take F1 of other weapons, but just because it is not as good it doesn’t not mean it is useless. GS F1 however, is another story, it is complete crap, that in no situation would I ever find it useful.

Yes most of the time I would take earthshaker, but its not always better. Think about it. When you see a hammer warrior engage your teammate in mid range away, does earthshaker bothers you? Nope. Even if you get stunned, he might not focus you, you can break it out of it. If you see a rifle warrior kneel down at mid range aim at your direction, what do you do? You either dodge or get out of line of sight, even if he might not be aiming at you. This is also a form of CC.

It’s fine in PvP, but in PvE, where everything basically more or less comes down to ‘does this increase my DPS?’ or ‘is this worth losing x% DPS over?’ for the current content, when the answer is no almost always to both questions, you got a problem.

What’s wrong with GS burst? It gives free Fury for a while (A 20% crit chance to offset short loss of 15%, and then shoots above that. Fine if you don’t have any other source of Fury), and 100b brings the adrenaline back to max before it hits full stride (later attacks do less damage than the later ones). And, it’s pretty fast, and hits significantly harder than any other single strike.

I really think Adrenaline could use some work, but more in the sense that I don’t think it’s healthy for the mechanic to have passive effects tied to the presence of adrenaline.

That is to say, I’d tie them to the absence of it, giving a constant ebb&flow gameplay where burst skills alternate with passive power. And as combat builds adrenaline and passive effects weaken, available burst skills become stronger.

That’d be a far more interesting mechanic IMO, and also much easier to balance because you can buff either side (Passives vs Burst) without directly making players dislike the other (as they’re no longer mutually exclusive, hold Adr vs release it, instead you’d want to cycle to get back to the passives).

The strength of heart to face oneself has been made manifest. The persona Carighan has appeared.

Bugs and class design changes are usually done by different people, so they might not really overlap. Which is also part of why bugs usually take so long to stamp out in a MMO, so I’m not sure it’s a good team-assignment in the first place.

But really, I don’t see what the big deal is. Yes, Adrenaline is a mechanic which provides a great benefit for not using it all the time every time. But isn’t that arguably a good thing? Using a “burst” skill should be used for… well… BURSTS. It shouldn’t be an excuse to press another button and have another skill to deal damage with while the rest of yours are on (already) short cooldowns. I actually like having the adrenaline skills contest with my other skill damage on my warrior, because it makes me actually need to make good, intelligent decisions on what to do with my resource and when, if at all. Sometimes even that GS adrenaline skill can win a fight. Having another skill to spam on cooldown doesn’t add any more depth to the profession. It’s just another button press in a standard, unchanging, and boring rotation.

I also say the warrior class mechanic is poor not because it’s useless, but because it’s so simplistic it’s sleep-inducing. Necro’s death shroud is also one button and in a sense the two work in similar fashion (both have a gauge that needs to be filled to be effective) but death shroud takes so much more thought to use.
