Candy corn rewards are a time gate
Great so i get the mini in 18years time.
You will be playing WoW 3 by then.

Expect a christmas and Dragon Bash node in your home instance.
I actually wouldn’t mind a Snowflake node. Trouble is, there’s 6 different types of snowflakes, and I may not necessarily want the T6 one all the time.

That just raises the question: what WOULD a snowflake node look like…? An ice block?
why would I even need a candy corn node though? Recipes requires thousands of them, and Im sure* at most* you could get like 10 from a node? yeah, no thank-you, I’m already done with the quartz stuff when celestial became worthless as a MF set.
First of all the Cob trader is being removed on 11th of november so this not going to be time gated
This is just a bad decision of Anet cause 20k corn for the minipet in 27 days is pretty hard
EDIT: i think they just want the candy corns off the trading company
It will depend on if a Candy Corn Cob can be made some other way after Halloween. Remember Quartz is converted into Charged Quartz at Place of power.
Place’s of Power may be used to convert candy corn into a Candy Corn Cob. Then we just save the Candy Corn Cobs in our collectibles until Halloween.

Considering it takes 1000 candy corn to make a cob, and a node gives out what 6 at most…
Might have enough in time to make your weapon before Guild Wars 3 comes out.
I could get diabetes off of candy corn irl faster than it would take to farm it in this game.
peasants had no bread and who responded: “Let them eat brioche.”
I have a feeling that as soon as the number of candy corn drops on the Trading Post the rates with dynamically adjust and become more abundant. If you speak with the golem, it states that the reason for the scarcity of the candy corn is because of the Bloody Prince. So maybe as the days count down towards Halloween the drop rate will drastically increase. If not I’ll just hang on to my candy corn to sell it a day or two before it ends.
Anet does not want you to earn Candy Corn rewards during halloween. This is why the price is so high. “1,000 candy corn to make one Candy Corn Cob”
Instead they want you to do the meta. To earn a Candy Corn node for your home instance. Then Candy Corn and other Halloween crafting materials will be in smaller steady supple year round.
“Get yourself some sweet rewards by participating in Blood and Madness content! Complete the Blood and Madness meta achievement to receive a Mini Candy Corn Elemental , and follow the storyline for a Candy Corn node for your home instance!”
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/october-15-2013/Anet must planing to time gate these items so they can take multiple years for players to earn.
Actually, unfortunately, I have to say you are wrong, since the guy able to transform candy corn in to the cobs is going to be gone as of November 12 according to a dev.
The node is mearly for the ability to craft the other items that don’t need the “refined” items.
We haven’t seen all of the content yet. Maybe we get 1000 candy corn each time we play Mad King Says. Or maybe the home node will give like 25 each time. Just some hopeful speculation. Otherwise, this is a looooong road that I don’t wanna trudge down.

These are really pie in the sky hopes that will probably only disappoint you since it is rather clear from past history that nothing like this has ever happened.
It just seems whom ever is on the math department for ANet’s devs got their math degree either from a cracker jack box, or they have the worst case of poor “new math” skills ever, or they wanted to be sure that no one could craft the craftables.
Either way, it’s insane.
On the plus side, I made like 3g from selling candy corn yesterday because the rewards require so friggen many of them.

And relevant dev replies:
The Merchant who traded items for Zhaitaffy is now named Sonder the Seller, you will find him next to the Laurel vendor in Fort Marriner. But he couldn’t pass up a great opportunity like Halloween to exchange for Halloween items. But once Blood and Madness is over, which runs until November 11th, he will resume trading items for Zhaitaffy.
Yes, Sonders the Seller will trade both of those items after November 11th. The minipet and and pail will still be available. The upgraded crafting materials for nougat, fangs and skulls will be removed.
It’s certainly better than what I originally thought, makes more sense for the fangs and such to be a bit more of a heavy gate for the Halloween themed weapons. Intially I thought the Candy corn stuff was extreme but hadn’t known Sounder would be taking corn afterwards as well…so all’s good :o
Edit in part to what Weaver mentions above about cobs not being around on the 12th, that’s a misinterpretation on martin’s last sentence which is to Sonder accepting taffy again on the 12th, though he will stop Fangs, Nougat and Skulls- just not cobs

Pretty easy, you can even get one for your real home: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYyqKjqxlNU Makes you lots of snowflakes, although it’s quite timegated as you can see in the video.
