Clocktower jumping puzzle - last jump
I need to ask an obvious question, are you jumping into the face of the clock, or do you wait until it revolves another time and the face breaks, making an entrance appear?
edit: also, no, I didn’t have that issue.

Yes I do wait, it’s like my character is too big or something
It’s lag. See my and null’s posts in the following thread for a way to counter it:
it is a confirmed bug. It is mainly due to a lag issue. When the side of the tower blows out if it is not smooth try reloading the clock tower because the entrance at the top is not at the correct spot anymore, you could jump a sec or two early and might be able to make it.
I feel your pain over this. I ran to the top 8 times and didnt realize it was a lag issue that was stopping me. But after asking here and having it confirmed that it was a lag/bug I went back in and got it the first time I made it to the top.
I can absolutely confirm this is a bug. The symptoms may be lag induced, but it is definitely glitchy.
I completed the tower once, then left it a while. Came back later on, and noticed that when the first wait-point animation starts, it would run for 0.5 seconds, stop, then start again. Later on, after you complete the (faceplant) jump down there is another animation. This also would start early, stop for 0.5 seconds, then start again.
If either of these happens, you will NOT make the jump into the clock face.
After ~20 more attempts of trying to jump in, I gave up in dismay. Perhaps 30 minutes later I attempted it once more before having a break. Needless to say, no animation bug, and got into the clock face first time. Tried it again, bam another success. 5 points in one 15 min session and came to the conclusion that the earlier attempts were 100% bugged and faulty in the worst possible way; that is, it took significant effort and difficult jumps to repeatedly find a bug that looked like our fault and not the games engine.
This is only lag, I always have the 0,5 scs latency at the places you talked about, and I can definitely always jump through the glass if I get it right ; only thing is I need to time it really well since there’s this lag issue. Jumping right when the lightning strikes work for me.
For christmas I’d like to get a crossbow for my characters.
With love, a cute kitty.
I succeed and can confirm, if the 1st animation at the beginning stops and then completes with small delay, that means the lag is present. I think the best option is to re-enter and try again later.
Stand on the far right of the stairs and pan camera so you can see as much of the clocktower turning anti clockwise as possible. When you glimpse the window, count to 1.5 then jump. Lag or no lag, you should make it then. Might have to tweak timing a tiny bit but averaged out that should be fine.
EDIT: To add a bit more, don’t rely on what you see or hear since that’s only 100% effective with no delay, so just go by the self-timing.

Man this is beyond a joke for anyone with a non-US ping. I’ve had at least 40 goes at the final jump trying things people describe and always hit an invisible wall. It wasn’t this bad last year for sure and I think I’ll just give up. What a giant waste of time

Probably lagging overflow, happens. Try to relog.
I’ve tried relogging to a few different overflows etc – still the same. Definitely done with this unless its fixed for people who don’t have perfect ping. GL guys

I have started jumping just before the lightning strikes, I have jumped as the openning was in front of me. I have hit the entrance, I have missed the entrance and fallen under the window, I have missed the entrance with the window flying by me as I fell. In all circumstances I have succeeded in getting into the tower.
So I have no idea what it is you would have to do to fail to make it in.
I know last year it was really finicky and it was easy to miss if you didn’t jump perfectly. This year they seem to have fixed it and you can make terrible jumps and still get inside.

I had this issue a lot last year, I failed the last jump 5+ times before I made it. Haven’t had it happen to me this year yet, I was hoping they had fixed something. Sorry OP =/
This happened to me and I’m so sad. Last year I beat it with no problems, this year I get to the top and miss the jump.
What has been working for me is jumping as soon as I see the clock face on the last round. This is before the lightning hits it.
I’ve never made it that far ;_;
I made it to the top several time, and it ALWAYS misses the last jump. I’ve watched videos and do the same as them, and it teleports me to the beginning instead of inside.
I tried joining a new instance like some people suggested, but it was even worse. I would be jumping along fine, and get randomly teleported to the start. The green water wasn’t even anywhere close!
I was able to do this puzzle fine last year. Please get these bugs sorted out. Its ridiculous.
I experienced this last year also and have completed it both years. With any luck, this issue might be resolved next year.
What I have found typically helps*, is not actually paying attention to the clocktower / clockface itself, but to the swirly green mist of death.
Compare the mist height when you’re trying to jump vs when you see successful jumps on guides etc. I personally have succeeded by jumping into the tower 2 faces after the breaking clockface just because the height of the mist etc seemed a little too early.
