Cost of Arachnophobia
Anyone who already had the recipes did not lose them, and they made no changes to the recipes themselves, but they changed the recipes to make the recipes which is where the insane cost is coming from. Essentially, they’re making it harder to get the recipes so the market isn’t flooded with the weapons in the future.

Still the cost of this weapon nearly rivals Eternity. And even if the fangs were to hit the lowest possible price of 37 copper. It will still cost 370gold for the fangs alone.

So basically just because I started later than some people I`ll have to grind over9000 gold to get only crafted Gift? And then grind a bit more to get the rest? No, really. It sounds like a bad joke.
I bet noone will sell the recipes now with such rise of costs. It`ll be strange just like killing a goose which lays golden eggs. The Gift`s cost alone is over 1000 gold. I wouldn`t sell the recipe if I had it to gain monopoly of Gift`s craft.
It is utterly and absolutely impossible to grind 100000+ resources in two weeks. Perhaps someone typed unneeded zero or two?
Your assuming that the recipes wont be dropable from bags or chests. I just woke up and I’m still patching so havent been on yet, but judging by past events there’s a good chance that these recipes will be obtainable by other means, if not… god help us all, the gap between rich and poor will only widen.
They should change the recipe back to the orignial version.. Go go grind!
Would have loved a warning about disabeling the old recipe (which was not added?)
The people that got the recipe already got a huge advantage.
Or just change it to 10 best nougat/skull
Lets just hope they make it droppable.. (probably not)

under rewards, it gives you the correct amount needed for the recipe.

Which is still basically impossible for anyone with less than 8 hours a day to play.
Then you need to accept that maybe these items are not for you, and that’s ok.
If you really want these, then yes, you will need to grind it out for the next few weeks.
Doesn’t that typo-fix reduce the cost from 1580 gold to 230 gold? That’s right on par with other named exotics on the TP.

I’d wager that it would still be near impossible to grind out the materials in the time frame of the update. Unless you count just paying the AH as grinding.
The drop rate of non-candy corn ingredients is ridiculous for the proposed recipes. After several hours last night in the Labyrinth, I received 3 chattering skulls, 0 of the other ingredients. Probably around 150 candy corn as well. Add that up everyday until end of the update and I’d be well short of any of the recipes, even if you doubled my drops.
The recipes for items with temporary content truly need to be reduced…. unlike other named exotics, the only place to acquire materials after the update ends is the Trading Post.

Except that my point is, even if I spend all my free time grinding, it still won’t be enough.
And I do want the items; I had enough materials (but not enough gold) before the change. But not now. Which is why this is supremely frustrating.

It is impossible for people with 24 hours per day to play. Unless they won’t farm for mats, but for gold and buy the item directly.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
Don’t be so hasty. The drop rate of halloween mats will increase over the course of the event. I suspect that when the dungeon is released, refined halloween mats will drop enough to bring the cost way way down.

People were saying this about zhaitaffy at the dragon bash event. Somehow, their wishes didn’t become reality.
Hint: they didn’t make the recipes cost that much, only to make that cost irrelevant halfway. If the drop rate changes, it will be only because of community’s negative response. Of course, negative community response didn’t stop anet at anything unpopular they did so far.

The golem that you talk to occasionally says that you should expect to see more halloween mats as events unfold. Given the quite frankly insane requirements, I don’t see any way it could play out other than for refined mats to drop more frequently as it goes on.
The OP needs to be edited to knock a zero off that 1500g number. Each recipe only costs 10 HQ fangs/skulls/nougats. It’s still a lot, but 150g is nowhere near 1500g.

Not as much. still unmanageable.

Also, careful -.o don’t want them to think that one’s a personal attack, might meet a 2 week suspension :O
Yo guys, after we all can see what Anet is doing with this kind of stuff, i cant really imagine what will become, or what the requirements to craft a precursor will be.
15000 oricalcum ingots? 25000 elder wood? 14000 Ancient Bones? and 30000 Ectos?
But well at least we can make precursors by ourselfs. soo happy .i.
By now it should be rather obvious that excessive amounts of ingredients required to craft anything but trivial items is intentional and in fact part of the design philosophy. Considering ANet seem to do just fine regarding active player numbers and revenue that is unlikely to change any time soon.
That leaves you two options, pay up or pass on the item.
