I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

I’m gonna say it: I like the High Viscount of Candy-corn
Yes, it took me a while to figure out the big pink circles actually had white (friendly) effect borders – any shade of red was probably not the best choice for that FX, but that’s forgivable.
Yes it took a while to get the timing for darting in and out to the circle to both avoid the candy artillery barrage and not exceed 9 stacks of the sugar rush buff to prevent instantly sugar crashing.
Yes, having the Labyrinth Stalker (Chainsaw Wielding Skeleton – how cool is that! ) show up in the middle of a protracted Viscount assault led to the most zerg-gasmic round of people running back pell-mell from the spawn point in the recent history of Zergonomics.
But ultimately, with the bouncing and the screaming and the dodging and the rezing and the pew-pew-pewing and the hackity-slashy….
Its the most fun I’ve had in the game in quite some time.
Well done.
P.S. the Skeletal Lich isn’t bad either, when he doesn’t bug out.

I would have more fun if I knew what the hell was going on. Sucks to ask people whats happening every 2 seconds..
Overall, the labyrinth is the most challenging LS content we’ve had in a while. The nocs are easy enough when you’re in the zerg of course, but when you face them alone they’re challenging. I like it when you’re fighting stuff that can actually fight back, not just afk drop health bar auto attack them.
Both lorewise and contentwise, this update was very well done. I like it, and seeing as how Halloween is my least favorite holiday theme, that’s saying a lot.
Oh that’s easy – what’s happening is he blasts you to teeny tiny pieces until you figure out those pink circles aren’t just cosmetic .
He has a melee attack (no biggy for bunkers), 3 different possible patterns of ground bursts (a line, plus shape, and box shape) that are painful but not terribly fatal, a singe red circle centered on himself that will end you in most cases (easy to spot after the fact – all the facetankers need to be stood back up), and he does what looks like a foot stomp and 4 pink candy circles appear just before 4 waves of candy “artillery” come flying off him. The last attack is his “mechanic” – you either haul rump to a pink circle or dodge like a lunatic, and with 4 waves, pretty much nobody has enough dodges if he’s happened to pick you as someone who will be targeted with all 4 volleys.
In its most simplistic zerg-mentality its as easy as stack on him, and maybe roll out if you see red circles. He typically drops at least one pink circle under himself if enough people are in melee, and then you just bash on him mindlessly while he wastes time with the artillery.

Indeed. The characters I’ve gone in there with so far are all well tuned, well geared 80s… and even then if you pick up a vet and a couple small mobs you’ve got a real fight on your hands. Some of the patrols are serious clusters of ouch. I haven’t been as happy to form impromptu duos in quite some time.

The prince intro was decent but not amazing in my eyes, but once I hit the Labyrinth, some of the dialogue between His Majesty and… “Eddy” had me rolling. That is some messed up kitty droppings those two talk about.

wow you can actually see his moves?
i can’t see him at all… if you know what i mean…
Yea I’m actually having more fun in the Halloween zerg than any of the others that the LS has produced. The gauntlet wasn’t much fun, just effective. The invasions were even more effective, and fun in the beginning (when people wanted to win). But the Labrynth has some great challenging enemies, a great ambiance, and is loads of fun.
The Labyrith is actually really well done. It’s a shame that the drops are kinda terrible.
It’s a lot of fun! A+
