I just got this from completing [You, Back in the Box] achivement, but when I clicked it, it didn’t spawn a minning node as the tooltip said it would, in addition it also disappeared from my inventory, even though it says it can be used once a day.

Anyone else having this problem?

Have you checked your home-instance, because that is where the node spawns (or at least should spawn).

what is this home instance ? theres no home button , theres no character home to go to…so home instance ?

Home Instance is the place where your character used to call “Home” in your starter historys.

I.E :
Human : Home instance its in Divinity’s Reach in the district instanced.
Asura : Home instance is trough one of those portals, in one great area with yours personnal laboratory
Charr : Right near of exit gates of the city, in another instanced area
Norn : Up the stairs in the Great Lodge
Sylvari: NVM, I never liked saladmen.

You should see it on the mini map like other mining nodes.
I had already mined the quartz so there is only one icon on the map but it is also next to the quartz node.

You’re likely looking in the QUEST instance. There’s two instanced zones in the great lodge. One is right by the door, and one is in the bottom floor next to the tooth of jormag, all the way against the back wall. I forget which is the quest and which is the home instance, but try the opposite one you first tried.

You can go to ANY home instance, not just your racial instance, and mine your nodes.

If you mean the ‘Home’ area in the Black Citadel, then look up two posts from yours at Khisanth’s attached image which shows exactly where the ‘Home’ instance is and where the nodes are within it.

It’s called “The Hero’s Canton (Home)” on the map. Door is off the “Mustering Ground”.

Sylvari have the Dreamer’s Terrace – as I recall just hit the bottom level of the grove via WP and you are right by it.

Human’s have the Salma District (With it’s own waypoint).

In Rata Sum, it’s the “Applied Development Lab” – you take one of the Asura gates to get there.

For Norn – enter the great lodge. Right there on you… left? is an instance – “Hunter’s Hearth”.

Note all have the "(Home) tag in their name, and as mentioned – the nodes will appear in all five for all characters, but are account bound – so mining one anywhere mines them all.

But if you make a new toon, he won’t get it.. kind stupid
